More to come later, I'm tired.
That's only 19.741981 miles per gallon. What were you riding or driving?
Me thinks that looks like a Connie front fender.............
Damn drama queens...
Silly Rabbit! With tires like that you wouldn't make it half way up the creek! :eek1 I suppose you could try to get knobbies mounted on those rims
Waiting for more
My thoughts too. EDIT: I cheated. It is. Now show us the whole pic. Does it have a sidecar for carrying a dog?
OK here is my try at a half assed sort of ride report. I have been thinking that it would be nice to have a bike that would be good for longer distances than are comfortable on the DRZ(400 mile days are getting old on it). So I have been browsing the ads and found one. Just outside of Atlanta is a 2001 with no mods and 11000 miles on the clock. Owned by two elderly suthern Gentelman and the color is blue.
Call the guy up and ask him if he has a picture of it. "Well there is one in the cycle trader." Says he. "I saw the add online" I relply. "On what" he says. "The internet, maybe you could email me a picture"? "What mail you a picture"? Is the answer. So I give up and make the deal and tell him we'll be down there in a couple of weekends.
So I borrow a trailer from my buddy and we hit the road.
We pass through quite a few states and see some interesting things.
Thought I saw Chads bike.
Upon closer inspection it wasn't.
Looked like somebody was loosing his turbo coming through the hills.
Trying to make some time on the way down.
Didn't hit any rain till we got south of Chattanooga.
13.5 hours after leaving we pull up in the drivway.
And find this waiting for us.
We had planned on picking up the bike and making the turn and getting a few hours north of Atlanta so sunday wouldn't be so long. We wound up talking with Billy and his wife for four hours. They fed us coffee and freshly made rumcake. We told them we had to get on the road and they would have none of it and offered us a room. How could we say no. It is true what they say about southern hospitality.
So the next morning we wake up at 330 AM. (she is not a morning person)
The bike is loaded up and ready to go.
Damn this guy rides close.
Save you the long and short of it. Were home.
I couldn't just call her Connie like all the other girls so I told her her new name was Georgia and she smiled. Looks happy to be in her new home.
And so are we.
Now all I have to do this week is get her ready to go with some coice add ons so that I can leave for the southeast on Friday morning. Going to check out New Orleans area and make our way around the gulf down to the keys and catch bike week for a day and then meander back. Ride report will follow.
Nice bike, Nice report.
Same bike as motojoes connie with 90,000 less miles on the clock, I think you'll like it rev.
nice bike Marc
those Connnie motors are a blast
looking forward to opics from the ride
Rev bought a Connie You'll love it!! Considering joining the Concours Owners Group (COG). Great group of people, technical support and events!!
Congrats on your new ride
Side note: Hey Rev now that your growing your hair you are showing your age (as in younger:)
That looks like my brother from another mother, KX250 in a crew cab S10. That guy has good taste in vehicles.
Hey, if you pass by this area on your way south, stop by. I'll have some beers and a place for you and RevGirl to crash. BTW DataDaddy is also heading to Daytona, maybe you could could meet up with him.
I'll be here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108142
and then over at Krautbikeman's (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112735)
Maybe see you down there.
Congrats on the new ride!
Rev, nice family portrait.
you have a place to stay in Central IL as well if things work out that way. Have a great trip.
Cool bike! Great choice, Rev!
Gotta like a blue bike!
Only thing a sidecar would be good for is keeping doggy guts off my headlight.
Edit: I would never hit a dog on purpose, only "knick it" a little.
Thanks Joe, I have been on concours.org alot, will join up fairly soon. By the way now that you said I look younger I had to get a haircut.
