I am glad to report that I kept the rubber bits on the ground this time and made it all the way home!

Thanks to Silke and all the volunteers that put this on.

Finally rolled in a few minutes ago. Fun time kayaking the Ocoee on the way home. Chattanooga traffic was hell this evening.

To he who left the inflatable mattress pad on the picnic table by the last cabin.... It's being held by Crawford staff for a ransom equal to the cost of postage to your location.

    That is all.

Left yesterday, 8:00 AM, arrived home 2:15 PM. Made good time, very little traffic until I got up to Mt. Washington, KY (20 miles from home) where I also got caught with vents open in a thunderstorm that lasted the whole way back to the house. Outer gear wet, inside all nice and dry, save for the hands as I didn't really bother to stop and get the waterproof gloves out. Was just too close to home to want to stop.

After taking the time to get unpacked and hang the wet stuff, I just vegged out for the after noon. Yay for the laundry detail for today.

Another great weekend at another great Rick's Rendezvous! I think I will start packing for next year's now!

Thank you so much to my hero Silke and all those who contributed to such a wonderful time! I can’t begin to express how nice a time we have at the event! My own personal struggle with social anxiety stayed under control and I feel like I got off a vacation with close friends, relaxed and content. We had some good friends come out for the first time and they also loved it! While out ride miles were fairly low, the quality was great. Weather that we experienced could not have been better.

This years events made me not meet the plan to come out to scout rides and the nice folks who came on “my” ride were perfectly Okay with my statement of “follow if you want but know that I don’t know where I’m at or where I’m going”. We hade a ride I think we all enjoyed and at the same time saw beautiful places, had a long and good lunch while sharing quite a few laughs.

This annual getaway means so much to me! The read aloud list of those friends who can only ever share these earthly times with us again in spirit was somber and sobering, bringing tears to my eyes. I felt them with us.

The food was fantastic, the beer tasty and plentiful, the riding limitless but everyone’s friendship and kindness is what is most remembered and appreciated.

Our new puppy enjoyed himself a lot and came away a different dog in a good way.

So to the group who played leap frog with me on the way out, which one of you bought the pacer?
I almost stopped on the way in.
