The Mark_O Polio, coming soon to a neighborhood near you!
You described at least half of us.
I’m still on the road. Some 35 miles to go till Gaffney, SC for tonight... I was babying my ankle, I should’ve gotten my butt prepped...
there is a big pile of stuff in the yard now that was in the uhaul.... I don't wanna deal with it.
thank you Jim- @Drif10 for my newest "me gift"
Not bald... That should narrow it down!
Hmm... I get back and my neighbors wife is sick.... Coincidence?
My wife was happy you liked it, she was the one who scored it for you.
She is fabulous, how did you end up with her again?
It wasn't his looks.
I’m in Gaffney
...60 miles to go to Charlotte station tomorrow...
I am now 950 miles up the road in yankee land and still on tour.
My rendezvous with the rendezvous is the highlight of my current tour!
My view from my tent in Murphy NC
NY tag on a Harley? I think I passed you on 219, Sunday. Silver RT. That's a great road.
Not by me,straight four lane.
Hard to believe it’s the same road.
Made it home yesterday after lunch. Sunday ride was a biotch, who knew VA TECH graduation was this weekend? (Well, I did, didn't think it would matter... it mattered). Made it to Harrisonburg VA by dinner time, back in Allentown now drying 2 day old dew out of the gear.
Many thanks to Silke and the whole cast of volunteers that pull this together. I think we need a fund for new Subaru suspension though, that was some serious weight. Next year we need video of you two wheeling the curves going to Crawfords! Food fantastic, beer fantasticer, the company fantasticest. Even though I was in close proximity, I think I may have skirted the Mark_O plague by staying downwind and dosing with copious alcohol rinses.
Next year could we have better weather though? I miss having to slipslide out of the campground packed to the gills on Sunday.
One of the best , at least for me . Sunday morning feeling was , "Hey , this was fun !"
My RDV prep started Tues. by pulling the dead motor from my KLR , continued Wed. by putting in the replacement , starting it and finding a gas leak from the pepcock . Wrenching continued until 2 A.M. and continued Thur. Permatex to the rescue then loading the van and hitting the road at dark-thirty in a storm. So , I drove all the way including turning off 68 in TN. onto Joe Brown Highway and got out of the van at camp at 4:43 A.M.
The KLR started fine and made it one mile down the road before dying , suspected diaphragm disintegration . Then in the spirit of ADV , Jeff loaned me his 690 , Hubba-Hubba zoom zoom and it was on.
I helped solve all the world's problems Fri. night and got 3 or 4 hours rest before Jeff came by and said "Kickstands up in 20 minutes."
And another great ride was enjoyed.
Thanks to all that made it happen !
Well that was fun! Big thanks to Silke and company for a great first ADV Rally. Great weather, nice campground, beer, and great peeps makes for a good combination.
Thanks again to Chris, Rick, and Scott for leading me and the trusty TTR around the area. Good times. Next year is already penciled on the calendar.
I have had some good rides during past RDVs, this past weekend some more were added to the list. I sure did have a fine time. Other than the @Mark_O polio that I am now passing along to my sister and brother in law.
I have to admit that I felt kind of bad for the folks that followed me for lunch. Both rides had turn arounds, 1 because of shitty traffic, the other because I just plain missed the turn. The huge bonus was that we rarely had anyone in front of us.
I feel like I cleared out much of the negativity that has been weighing me down lately.
Kudos to everyone that made it what it is.
Good to see you, Tom!
Huge thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, campground owners, and genuinely nice people I met and rode with during this year's RDV!
Kudos to @RUSTINPEACE for the local knowledge re-route out of traffic and on to a great twisty road.
Other than that 10 minute oops in that stau, I had fun.
