What an awesome ride, thanks for sharing!
The Ride-gods were good to you with blue sky days in the City.
I didn't realize how much I miss SF until your photos. Thanks.
I’m getting there stay tuned
San Francisco is beautiful!
Great report, following along for sure. Great photos.
I have a question— I noticed in a couple of your pics showing your cooking setup, that you have foil between the flame and pot. I have never seen this before and I’m an old guy still trying to learn new tricks.
What is the reason/advantage for this?
Well, if you must know .....my pit is too small for the burner on the jetboil so the foil makes a steady base
HaHa - so just a hack to make it work.
Thought I was onto a new way to make it boil twice as fast, or never boil over, or something I haven’t even thought of.
I carry a heavy piece of foil to use as a wind deflector as needed so figured I was ready for whatever magic you were going to disclose to me.
Looking forward to rest of your report.
Great RR so far - in for the rest.
Fantastic photos. What was/were your cameras?
Just an iPhone 8 ....
I've had the Irish Coffee there but appears I need to go back for the chowder bowl. Thanks for the story, the pics and the memories.
Glass Beach is an incredible natural phenomenon that I will go back and explore further...the PCH from Fort Brag to highway 101 turns into a tunnel of trees and a curve filled tour through giant redwood forests. Specfuckingtacular and highly recommended ride! If you pass through I also recommend a stop at the “never don’t stop” roadside cafe and gift shop. I made Grants Pass Oregon by night fall as the temperatures began to plummet. I was still hurting pretty bad from the Colorado crash and discovered icy hot was my new best friend...also probably the reason no one sat near me at dinner After filling myself fat and sassy at the Black Bear I got a room at the local motel 6 and called it a day.
Sorry about your pain. Keep icing it.
Hope it gets better.
One of the things about reading peoples reports is that it brings back so many memories. That ride from Ft. Bragg to Leggett is an all time / anywhere favorite of mine. Thanks again for the story and the pics.
It was a frosty and snowy morning in Oregon when I headed north to Bend. After riding for an hour and a half I stopped for fuel and it was still in the 30's. Bend was a destination for lunch and a get together with a friend I hadn't seen in over 20 years! After my little reunion, I continued north to Washington passing through a little four corners town with a general store. I stopped in search of an Oregon sticker for my panniers and ran into some ladies who had family in Wisconsin in the same town where my office is....could the world be any smaller?! I rode a hundred miles down the Columbia River Gorge before dropping back into Oregon and finding a room in La Grange. As luck would have it, the pub next door had Taco Tuesday going on and I was starved! $.75 tacos all night long how could I resist?
Great RR, thanks for the pics with info. to match.!!
Heading to the left coast from right coast in 2020 and taking notes on places to see from you~
Thanks and safe travels
Excellent! Look forward to your RR in 2020!!!
