My name is Anatoly(ADVCRIMEA), I live on the Crimean Peninsula, Russia
I apologize for my English, it seems to me that I write with errors, but I think it will be possible to understand :)

In 2020, I traveled from Crimea to the border with North Korea in Eastern Russia. Separately on this trip, I visited the Kolyma road (the road of bones) and the city of Magadan. I want to tell you about this trip. 19000 km, 42 day
    Bike - BMW R1200GSA

It was a completely Autonomous, solo ride.

My route is available via the SPOT satellite tracker via the link , or link2 Dates from 10.07.2020 to 25.08.2020. Choose in history

The ride was great, I drove about 6000 km of dirt roads. This is the route Kolyma, Magadan, East of Russia. I also visited lake Baikal, Olkhon island and any.....

Let's start the story with lake Baikal and Olkhon island, and photos of these places.

    Baikal Lake

Olkhon island, the largest island of lake Baikal. You can go there by car or motorcycle. There are shops. There are no gas stations, and there are dirt roads everywhere on the island. Sand

the main attraction of the island is the rock of Shamans

After Olkhon island, I continued along the Irkutsk region to the TRANS-Siberian highway

This is a dish of the national cuisine of the Republic of Buryatia, Russia. This is called-poses. It is made from wheat flour, beef meat inside.

+1 your English is fine. Если нужна помощь с переводом PM мне.

I left my bike in Kazakhstan last Oct; was supposed to come back and ride roads of BAM and to magadan this summer with friend.. that was before pandemic.

BTW did you take old summer road (старая дорога?) or new main?

I was driving along the old road to the village of Tomtor, to the cold Pole of Oymyakon. After the village of Tomtor, the road is difficult. impassable. you can only ride a light motorcycle after the village of Tomtor

will continue my story. After Baikal, I went to the cities of Ulan-Ude and Chita.
This road is called the TRANS-Siberian road. Around the taiga. Beautiful panorama.
The TRANS-Siberian railway passes next to the highway. This railway was built under Tsar Nicholas in the early 18th and 19th century.
I went to the town of Slyudyanka. There is the only railway station in the world built of white marble. The station was built in 1914.
The road is paved everywhere. You can ride any motorcycle

My way lay to the city of Mogocha, which is already the TRANS-Baikal territory of Russia. After the city of Chita, there are very few hotels, gas stations are found every 100-200 km. You have to plan this. There are Bike posts in these remote areas of Russia. This is a community of motorcyclists who can provide you with shelter and food. It's always safe here. All these points are marked in the app. IOverlander
    Mogocha town
    [IMG]
    Bikepost Mogocha
on the first floor there is a garage for motorcycles, on the second floor there are places to sleep
    [IMG]
there are no habitual living conditions at bike posts. Toilet on the street, things can be washed in the river :)
this is basically what I did
    [IMG]
Аfter spending the night in the city of Mogocha, I moved on. Soon I will need to turn off the TRANS-Siberian highway on the A-360 "Lena" highway towards the city of Yakutsk, and from there to Magadan
    [IMG]
the first unpaved Enduro sections of the A-360 highway are already here
    [IMG]
the road is partly paved and partly unpaved. 60% asphalt 40% Enduro gravel
    [IMG]

It rained all day. I arrived in Neryungri completely drenched. I was placed in the bike post of a local motorcycle club
    [IMG]
I was able to dry things here
    [IMG]
Also in the city of Neryungri I replaced the tires with off road ones
    I used tires anakee wild
    .....
then I'll go to Yakutsk and take the road to bones......

    to be continued
