Makes it easy to find the masterlink - Hey - maybe just a red masterlink?

    Nice cafe.
I thought I'd seen every RD400 on the web but I must have missed that one.

No. Just plucked off the net. Was looking for a stock green '76 .
I did have a purple '74 at one time. Fond memories of taking Mulholland to the beach on mine back in the late 70's.
Great job on your 400 !

Finally got the seat cover on this morning and the closure made for the tail fairing. Ended up using a reproduction seat cover ordered from the UK. Very nice cover but I hacked it up to fit the modded pan. Would have been nice to have a custom cover made but nobody around here does that.

So love it or hate it, it doesn't matter. :photog
What matters is it's all together so now I can ride it.

The separate rider/passenger butt patterns are bit odd with the shortened seat, but what can you do when there's no easy alternatives?

Overall it's a sharp looking bike and should give you hours of fun. Are we allowed to ask "What's the next project"?

You should be ashamed of yourself.....

Not being able to hand craft your own seat cover....

    :hide

    Kidding! Blue dots look good!

    As does the whole bike!

If I’m being honest, and that’s how I roll. I dislike the seat. A lot.

The rest of the bike is the cats ass though.

Oh, and still needs gold heads.

Yeah the seat cover isn't exactly what I had in mind but I'll use as is and ride it this summer.
I'd be happier if the piping had lined up with the corners of the fairing and there weren't the rider/passenger break in the pattern but it'll have to do.
Can always try something different next winter but I'm just happy to be able to ride it.
Guess I need to take some sewing lessons.:lol3

Not sure yet Neil but I'm going to take a break for summer. Will just be doing some repairs on other bikes.

Took the RD for a shake down cruise this afternoon.
Wow, what a fun little bike to ride, I forgot how nice they handle. It's definitely a keeper for sure. I'll deal with the seat next winter but right now I'm riding it.
Need to get some insurance on it and finish the break in miles. So far so good. No leaks of any kind, everything works, and it runs great. Charging system is working fine.
The front forks are a little stiff and need tuning. The rear shocks are way too stiff so going to have to get something different.
Really tough to resist cracking the throttle but I'll put some more miles on before seeing what she's got. Just 25 miles on it today, will take it out tomorrow weather permitting.
I need to do this with the Bridgestone as well. It hasn't been ridden at all yet.
