I'm in SoCal. Not sure what the plans are going forward, but if nobody else speaks up you can ship it to me and we'll do our best to keep it on the move until springtime.

Took off in the morning about 9:30 temp about 48*. Headed East and North toward the Sheyenne National Grassland. Haven't been there but that there was some off highway riding opportunities made this a decent day trip exploration. Hope it shows that ND isn't a totally flat state. Grassland trails had way more sand than I expected the ATs factory tires to handle. Even the grazing cattle were wondering who was out riding in November...we didnt stick around to show them in detail and to get mired axle deep.
Along the way we stopped in to McLeod ND home of CowboyUp (it's big festival I suppose) This Little jewel is literally in the middle of nowhere but has a new bar and paved Main Street block. Found out Cowboy Up draws lots of horses and thirsty riders...except for this covid year.
Getting later than we thought, we headed back via the 'little Yellowstone route/scenic byway' my photos to do.e tried to capture some of it but we got back to town just about totally dark. No deer encountered...just a couple death wish pheasants...not sure how we missed them.
Try a bit later to get some more posted tonight.
Thanks to my friend Scott for joining me and providing some photos I'll post soon.
Have to do this again when it warms up.

Thank you for the opportunity to join in on this journey.

As far as I'm concerned...sending it to CA is fine by me, keeping it moving/getting out to ride was the purpose, right? As long as original thread promoter is good with it, send me DM info of where to send it. Will just add my photos to the drive an repackage for sending.

Good to see it moving. Maybe get it into the southern areas where the weather is a little more moderate for the winter.

Sent a DM to Locopny with my address. Looking forward to hosting the baton and to keep it on the move by "showing" it around SoCal.

If any of you guys/gals are within reach I'd be glad to hand it off as well. My thinking is the more hand-offs the better.

Already making a list of places I plan to take it.

    Stay tuned...

Would have preferred hand off myself.

Looks like the baton is inbound to me here in SoCal. Once it arrives I'll get it out for some sights. Better yet, if you're in the area (or planning to come this way) let's do a hand-off to keep this thing moving as much as possible.

And thanks again to all who have come before me. I think this is a fun thing to be involved in.

    Stay tuned....

Like a kid waiting for Santa, I've been checking EV-er-ry-DAY for the O2O Baton to arrive. It's here now and I can't wait to get it out for some adventures. Here's a quick shot for those who are following along. Looks like some chilly temps headed this way for the next several days. Guessing I'll have to lay-er up. :vardy

....Stay tuned for some photo ops.

If any of you reading this are in the greater SoCal area let me know so we can do a hand-off.

    Good. Was starting to wonder.

Chilly is a relative term . I suspect it didn't arrive to you in the snow. Hope to see some places I used to ride. Cheers.

Looks like the baton has picked up a couple scuffs along the way.

    I like it.

For those following along, the baton is "wintering" here with me in Orange County, CA. Had an opportunity to sneak out for a couple of rides and thought I'd share a few photos of the local sites.

Still trying to figure out the timing for the Spot device. On one ride I forgot to turn it on until halfway through and the other the interval was kinda blotchy so you don't see the specific places I was at unless I hung out for 10-15 minutes.

    Enjoy!

The Big "A". And yes, those are people in the bottom right corner

Harbor Blvd entrance to Disneyland. Sadly that whole area is an absolute ghost town.

The Honda Center - where the Anaheim Ducks play and lots of great concerts.

Santiago Canyon /Live Oak Canyon road. The longest stretch of pavement in Orange County (other than a freeway) without stop lights.

Very jealous of you getting out to ride. The "winters" there must be brutal. :imaposer

Perfect. Many times did I traverse Santiago road on the BRP.
Y'all on lockdown and curfew? Or can you pretty much do some escaping throttle therapy?

    More photos...

Things got a little dirty. This is Maple Springs Road in the Cleveland National Forest. Yep,

Made it to the top of Santiago Peak. Overlooking Orange County and Catalina Island in the distance.

Down to Dana Point Harbor for a check on things. Looking good here...

Ended the day in Newport Beach. Look close, you might see the baton on the deck next to the ladder...
    Newport Beach.jpg

That's all I've got for now. I'll post a few more shots once I have another chance to ride. Better yet, if you're in the area let me know and we can meet up for a ride. (It was getting so cold I had to completely zip my jacket...)

    Take care and happy holidays.

No lockdown so far. And yes, the quick trips are great for clearing one's mind. By "BRP" do you mean Big Red Pig as in XR650R? I've got a street-licensed 2000 that is perfect for the hills and deserts. Stay tuned for some other local flashbacks.

    Cheers
