Heading out for my first multi-day solo trip on the little WR250, going to an amazing section of southeastern Oregon for 4-days of riding the bush. I'll do a full write-up after returning, but will likely post a couple shots when I get into cel range.

    Woohoo!

I'm so jelly. I was just tauntingly close but didn't get to go to the places I love most. :cry

I never knew how remote southern Oregon was until I went there with the wife on a bike trip. Good lord - I think we went 200+ miles without seeing another car or even gas station.

    :eekers

    its no joke out there.

I read somewhere that it is the least populated areas in the US. I am not sure I believe that, but you are right, there is no one out there. I have lived in Oregon all my life and SE Oregon is my favorite place to ride.

Looking forward to the ride report!

Thanks @AHRMAA17L. I agree, riding out here is nirvana, love the solitude and terrain! Sipping whiskey and about to call it a night. [IMG][IMG]

I swear North Western Nevada and South Eastern Oregon are quite open and quite as you describe.

Good ride today, though I’ll skip the ~7 miles of baby heads next time I’m out this way...lol. Had a couple of detours due to fences, and bailed on the baby head track when I saw there was still 5 miles to go. Camped at Fisher Hot Springs, no one around for mikes. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I’ll post the GPX when I’m done, basically made my way SE from Summer Lake HS to Plush and then out to Fisher. Tomorrow is up Fisher canyon, over to Shirk Ranch, and then Fields and onto Alvord. Should be good

Well, that’s why it’s called adventure riding. Woof, what a day. Suffice to say it was a good day...I didn’t die and I didn’t have to use the SOS on my InReach. Saw lots of beautiful country, had to reroute into NV, had to fix a flat 2 miles from camp, but found the kindness of strangers is incredible. And the Alvord hot springs is outstanding. Tomorrow’s another day!

3 flats, all rear. All look like pinch flat, but all happened on easy stuff-2 on pavement and one on gravel. Not sure I trust it getting back to my truck at Summer Lake HS. Anyone coming through Fields and heading to Paisley or Summer Lake?

Not the way I wanted to have the last 2 days go

Sorry to hear about your tire issues. We were through that area late last week. Gerlach on Wed, Denio/Fields on Thur/Friday, Plush and back to Paisley on Saturday. We had five bikes and at least six flats. Burned through all of our tubes save one. That area is rocky as hell, and with camping gear and extra gas, you need firm tires, thick tubes and LOTs of pressure. I run 606s, 4mm UHD Bridgestone tubes and 20+ lbs pressure on my 500exc. I was one of the lucky ones with no flats.

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip!
