Sorry...the Suzuki is a 4 stroke....
Kiwi working in his shed - homebuilt 2 stroke twin with balance shaft powering a gyrocopter. based on the the builders favorite engine - the Kawasaki Bighorn.
Had this exact '87 YSR years ago with only 350 original miles on it. Had to sell it cuz' I was broke and always regretted it.
Score: 10 out of 10.
Pic taken last night at a local bike meet
The image seems to have disappeared, so here's a repost.
Mike Baldwin’s KR750 on eBay right now…
I’ve always wanted one of these as well so I bought one in Japan to be shipped with the RG500 I previously won at auction.
Gonna be a nice Christmas.
Prices on TDR's have gone crazy the past 12 months....All strokers in Japan have went through the roof, as well as parts.
Good to know there are a few more heading to the States.
Was that through GooBike ?
I wanted a TDR when I first saw them (I had an RZ350 at the time) but they were rare here. Was considering selling my KTM a few weeks ago and saw one for sale for around what i would expect to get for my KTM, but it had a rusted out tank, and looked like it was generally pretty rough. It was still hard to pass up though and i was seriously considering it.
I think they were asking $6000 for it.
Yes, found it on goobike.
I’ve decided it’s always best to buy the best example you can afford.
That is the best example I could afford! They go for stupid money in the rare event they come on the market.
A TDR is on my wish list. Very nice!
sold for $20K WOW!
I've owned a few:
Started out with this 71 TC90
Better pic but not my bike>
71 TS 185
74 TS185 - bought cheap to fix the forks
76 TS250 - mint with under 1K miles
76 RD400 - 29K miles and bought from some old guy. It had a rack on the back with a mail box attached. I put the pipes on it but it had some ignition probs or something and never ran quite right.
84 RZ350 - all stock
74 H2B from NM
74 H2B Denco
76 KH500 - Mid Ohio find for $1200 a number of years back
I forget the year? first for the aluminum frame 97 maybe? CR250R
02 CR250R lots of goodies on this one
79 RM125 - ex pro bike tricked out
80 IT175 I beat up on all those KDX200s !
These are all out of order, but this was actually my first 2 stroke just before the Suzuki TC90. It made the Suzuki look really good. The year is unknown but it's a Moto Beta frame with a loose Hodaka 90 engine that blew up every other week
85 RZ350 - This one was dialed in! Felt like a dirtbike on the street!
87 or 88 KDX 200 - I forget the year but this is my only pic of it
06 or so Suzuki JR80. What a little sweetheart of a bike, very good natured and loves to just putter along
70 Benelli Dynamo 65ccs and a everyone of them was a pain to keep em going
I think it's a wrap, I had a few more but don't think I took pics.
That may be the nicest overall street Buffalo ever.
