The 2001 does not have the High Flow head and the jets are different.
This thread has some info on jetting the 2001

I understand thanks, Ive had the staintune on for some time now, without the baffle insert on standard jetting, so I think I will just try a few main jets, shes runs sweet apart from a few popping and after firing sounds off the throttle, but is has been my experience with all big bore aftermarket pipes that are unrestricted to have that off the throttle party.

Ive checked the colour of my plug a few times and it seems its almost a perfect mixture being a light tan colour on the electrode signifing a leanish burn, but it has factory jets? work that one out?

anyway good on ya mate keep up the good work, besides advrider who would you contact in Aus for technical ktm info, all the bike shops in Perth seem to be a bit slow most of the time(referring to time, function, experiece)etc

I don't know anyone besides the Adv mob.
Try posting on the Australia forum, lots of helpful guys there who might know a mechanic familiar with the LC4.

    Good day,

Mobs here from Manila Philippines, I have a 2005 640 Enduro converted to Super Moto. I found this thread very informative and so use full..

Sir desmonc You're the man....... I'll be following your tips all I have now is snorkel removed, 155 jet and Stock super trap open baffle... I'll post photos of the muffler mods soon...

    next:
    160 jet
    needle 4 grooves from top
    carb top cover filter removed.
    SAS remove

Sir desmonc by any chance could i purchase your broken clutch lever then ship to Philippine Island since I join races here so broken one is not a problem. mines has a play in it due to hard clutch springs.

Any Soft copy Shop manuals from you Guys I will surely appreciate :)

    Safe ridding Guys.......

You are on the right track with the mods, have fun experimenting.

I sold my KTM early this year after a 23,000km trip around the USA

I have been back in the US for the last 4 months on a Suzuki DL650, right now in Mexico.

Can't say I did feel any difference but it does get rid of a fair bit of hardwear and clean up the engine area.

Sir desmonc my former set up is
    Needle clip 4th from top
    DPR7EA-9 plugs
    160 jet
drilled 3mm hole on carb piston

    we tried
    Needle clip 4th from top
    DPR8EA-9 plugs
    165 jet
drilled 3mm hole on carb piston

Bike ran even better and revved really crazy wow.. but my problem right now is that the carb small pipe in the bowl has a leak somewhere every time I rev the bike gas is dripping off my drain hole... I tried to repair it by soldering with lead.. dripping decreased but still there I will try to redo the soldering again is dripping perssist.. any tips how could I do this the right way..

I am only guessing but it sounds like your float level is too high or the float needle valve is not sealing properly causing the overflow.

Good day Sir, I'll be checking the float ASAP hoping that will solve the problem, Sir I read the manual and searched the net is it correct that our engine only uses 600ml of oil? and to be poured on the chassis breast.. I want to change my oil but having doubts about it..

    Thanks..

Read pages 40,41,42 of the KTM 640 Adv Owners manual, 600ml goes into the frame and 1300ml goes into the engine, total 1900ml of oil.

dont forger the bleed proceedure above 1 and b... very important...

float needle is worn out on the viton tip most likely or you are in need of a o ring...

Not correct, as already answered. Follow creeper's oil change how-to, it's not difficult... find it in the LC4 640 index.

    Later bikes, like my 2005 model, take a little more, 600mL + 1500mL = 2.1L.

Thanks a lot guys, 600ml plus 1500 in the engine

I found a replacement part in eBay it says..
    Replaces these OEM #'s:
    KTM:
    # 583.38.045.000
    # 583.33.045.100
    # 583.38.045.101

    is this correct

is this about my dripping carb? could you please elaborate or post photos of that o ring..

I'm just one of the lucky ones who owned a KTM :) who's pocket is not that deep... KTM's are considered exotic here in Manila...
