I just got a call from my dealer, Moon Motors in Monticello, MN. They just got a confirmed part # for an R1200GS ADV for 2006.

Color choices are either Alpine White or another called something like White Metallic which seems like silver. Seats are black.
Options include off-road tires, clear signal lenses, a mounting rack for aluminum side cases (dunno who makes them yet -please Touratech please pleeeeeease), partial ABS (whatever that is), onboard computer a la RT/LT, and, of course, wire rims.

No info on pricing or delivery dates but my salesman said that if history is any indication we should expect delivery in May '06.

    I say Hmmmm....

Did they give you the part number for the Adventure? If so, post it! Then others can confirm.

    Uh...yeah. :rofl

    It is a 1200GS
It has heated grips, wire rims, and mounts for aluminum bags - all of which I would have ordered anyway from either BMW as stock options or Touratech as aftermarket.
It has the onboard computer - bonus.
And it will have a larger tank (rumor is 8.7 gallons) which means I will need a smaller fuel cell.

What the f*ck else do I need to know?

Yes,there will be the R1200GS ADV out in the first quarter of '06.

Dealers are officially being made aware of the 800, HP-2, GS/ADV and a K1200 touring bike comming out between now, (HP-2) and the others in the next 2 quarters or so.

Nope, that's the 2005 (06?) 1150 Adventure Special Edition / Anniversary Edition which is on the market now. There are a couple threads in this forum recently.

The bike in question here is the yet unreleased 1200 Adventure, which nobody has seen pictures of, or even confirmed any specs, but now apparently you can order? I'm awaiting confirmed 1200 specs pretty eagerly myself.
