That Saturday in Dawson City was outstanding. The weather was perfect, no bugs, the folks were nice, breakfast at the curling club.

We didn't do the moose hair tufting workshop.

    It did look interesting.

    Day 18 Aug 22nd Fairbanks - Glenallen

The original plan was to leave Fairbanks on Hwy 3 to the Denali park, do a TSD, cross through the park and head south to Glenallen. Unfortunately there had been a lot of rain and the road had been washed out making that an impossibility.

We were going to have to back track to Delta Junction and head south from there. If anyone wanted to go into the Denali they could use that as an bonus stage instead of the planned bonus to Valdez.

There was a TSD first thing in the AM. The weather continued to be co-operative and it was cold and wet. :vardy

We stopped at Paxon to warm up and to have some lunch. We made a mess of the floor and drank all their coffee. The Blue cheese burger was good though :dg

That's it...I surf into the Chi guy's fishing and mud adventure on his new R and now I run into mostro's pancakes and brews report...it's 8:30 am and the day's shot, no way I can work but I can ride:evil ...I was emailed a reminder about Torrey this month, can't make that but I'm ON for PNW and BC in June.

I gotta go back to Alaska (first and only time was 2 weeks in '99 in an RV).

    Thanks for the inspriation! :beer
