I know it's kinda early but I think I would like to get into next years D2D.
For starters........I am wondering if a person has to register to get into the ride or does one just show up?
I have been on the Top the World Highway many times (I work for Highways and Public Works) going back to 1978 but I have always been in a cage. How would a steet bike fair on the gravel from Tok to Dawson ( I have a V-Star)
Maybe with my bike I should just show up at Dawson and party and forget the run??
    What do you guys think?

D2D has always been a ride your own ride type of event. Everyone meets in Dawson but plans their own route and makes their own travel plans either alone or with ridding buddies. Everyone is welcome to join the fun. No organization, formation, or registration. Well you register for the poker run and the dinner but you can do that when you get to town. And for real fun you can register for the biker games.

Bring the bike you ride even if its a Harley with knobbies.....oh ya....that was done last year.

Join the fun, join the party, make new friends.

Watch this thread for more details as D2D grows closer.

Generally it is the weekend closest to the solstice. This year the solstice was on a wednesday and it ended up the weekend before. In 2007 the solstice is on thursday, I would say wed 6/20 to sun 6/24 would be a good guess. That is the time slot I put in for at work. But I am only guessing as I am but a lowly relatively newbie gruver. I think the official dates come from on high, but I am not sure about that either.

We had 21 days of "Adventure Riding" on our trip thru the Great White North, but running across Harley George on several different occasions was one of the highlights of our trip.

I am dreaming of 2007 D2D already, thinking of what bike to ride, will I have a new one? We'll see what winter holds. It may be a second trip for the R1200GS.
