So how many of you FFs plan to go to the 2008 49er Rally in Auburn?
I'm heading up the Friday, possibly crossing the Sierra Sunday and coming down 395, back across 178 on Monday, providing passes are open.

    Sheep pens?

Last year they had a big tent set up in the first grass field on the left as you drove into the fairgrounds.. it worked real well for shade. I camped in there. The showers were cold, though:vardy

In, but any route I take will be silly, as it's only 10 miles from home.:lol3

Not everyone can walk 10 miles. :D
Bigger Al, you being a local and all, is there room to park the Adventure van for my posse...keeping in mind that its a great way to transport a lot of beer....
May not be needed but they seem to ask to come along to all these silly things.

We live about 8 miles north of Auburn in a gated community (not all that it's cracked up to be, BTW). You're welcome to park it here, but getting to it will be less than convenient for you.
The fairgrounds has a massive parking lot and space will be plentiful. You might want to contact them and ask if you can park it inside the rally grounds, as they'll have a ton of space in an open, grassy field at the top.

    THe Gold Country Fairgrounds: (530)-823-4533.

If you can't reach anyone, let me know and I'll stop over there and try to talk to someone in person.

Not yet, but in about 2 months I'll be able to.:clap

Actually, I spend quite a bit of my work time at the PG&E yard right next door to the fairgrounds. It always makes the Thursday of the rally very irritating for me. I get to watch all of these great bikes arriving and setting up camp while I have to work (sux).

We have a group heading up out of So Cal. 395 to 49, via Markleeville and Hwy 50. Camping in Markleeville on Thursday, arriving in Auburn on Friday am.

Can't wait to see speedway in Auburn again! Ahhh, the memories!:D

And I'm not sure I'm okay with leaving her home with the family beer. Ah what the heck, one never really owns beer, they merely rent it. (from the anchient Chinese proverb) I'm goin' anyway.
