Another noob question. You said JASO M2. Is JASO MA2 ok. I use this oil on my triumph. The PO HAS THE MANUAL IN THE MAIL TO ME SINCE HE forgot to bring that with bike at delivery hence the questions.

Any chance anybody knows what's the usual quantity. He just did an oil change 6 months back but barely ride 200 miles. I thought i'd change it anyway but no need to change the filter. Right?

    2.9 liters with filter change
    2.7 liters without

wouldn't change the filter for 200 miles. But than again a filter is 10 bucks and piece of mind on a new to you bike.

That was a typo I'm sure and they meant to write MA2. So, the MA2 oil is the right stuff.

To those living in Yankeedoodledandy land, Walmart currently has the Castrol Actevo 4T (which is what BMW is currently recommending) for $5.97 a quart. 10w-40 or 20w-50.

I'm guessing this will work for a 2015 BMW F700GS as well. Right?

Yup, it will indeed. BMW uses the rather hard to get 15w50. I use 10w-40 without issue (it's what they recommended originally on the parallel twins) but if you were so inclined you could do half and half of them both, and get a rough approximation of 15w-...er, 45.

    Here's the linky mclinkson: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Castrol-10w40-Actevo-4T-Part-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-1-Quart/186544149

For some bizarre reason, it's $5.97 for a quart, or $34.95 for a gallon. Free shipping over $35 too. Six quarts, enough for two oil changes, with free shipping for $35.82 plus tax.
