I just installed the happy trails SU racks and Teton panniers and they are great except for one small issue. My exhaust hanger bold is about a mm away from my panniers and after taking my Vario case racks of and installing my HT racks the exhaust now has some play in it at the hanger.
I looked on the Maxbmw parts fiche diagram and the Vario case racks are different than what I had on my bike so the exhaust hanger is different as well. Also, I can’t seem to find the parts fishe for a 2010. Hopefully this makes sense.
If anyone has had this issue I’d like to hear what they did. Thanks

While called "happy" trails racks, they have never been "happy" install. Their quality control suffers a bit. I had 2 of their products on previous bikes, and both installs required cajolling to install.

One set was so out of true, it needed s BFH and a MAP torch.

Luckily the install went well but the panniers are just too close to the exhaust. I need to figure something out to prevent them from hitting and damaging the exhaust on rides. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and what they did to remedy it.
