Wow, great response so far! Seeing how well we are doing I am going to cut a check on Monday morning and another one on 9/1 for the stragglers. Pony up inmates.

Just looked on the care pages thing from the hospital and here is what has been reported........
Joe's eye is protruding and the eye doc said that it is his brain pressing on the eye, and that it will get worse before it gets better. The eye will not pop out of the socket. This was as of last night. There isn't anything new yet this am.

Traci is to have the surgery to repair the broken pelvis on Friday. She is still out of it.

Ps Thanks Woody's Wheels for getting me back on my bike!!!!!:wings Casey the KTM is running GREAT! She sounds like her old self. Has your better half had a chance to see and sit on the TTR?

Okay so I have got on to Traci's site in the care pages. Here is what was reported yesterday........

She has been showing improvement. Responding to Doc's by moving toes and squeezing hands. She lifted a stuffed parrot and waved it when her brother came into the room, so she is able to recognize some things. She still has not opened her eyes so she has not come back all the way yet. Like I posted above she is on the books for surgery on Friday.

Go Traci!!!!! We are all pulling for you.

I just got the up date for yesterday, and I will be out of town until Sunday but will still try to keep everyone up dated.

Joe is headed to surgery today to repair the dura (sac around the brain) to stop the leakage of spinal fluid (could cause meningitis if not stopped) drain, clean and pack sinus (will no longer have a working sinus) take out tube and put in trach. Still waiting for him to respond to commands. Other than that it is pretty much the same.

Traci on the other hand is showing more signs of improvement. She nodded her head when Liz asked if she knew who she was.:thumbup Go Traci! She did have her surgery yesterday to resolve the rest of the issues and she did well.

    That's it for now.

Our fundraiser for Joe and Traci has gone great so far, I am bumping it here and rather than keep doing that until 9/1 I think i will bump it again Monday morning for those who have been out over the weekend and then close it out on Monday. As of this moment we are at over $700 - I would love to see it get to a cool $1k. So there you go. The badge here should show our current amount.

    Have a good weekend.

This one has brought tears to my eyes! Liz updated this morning and well, this is going to be long.
Joe came through his two surgeries on Friday and Saturday with flying colors! Friday they addressed his facial fractures and Satruday it was the arm. He is now sporting a plate and 14 screws in his arm and the doctors have said that he should be able to use it normally. Good news.
Sunday Goat arrived at about the same time that Joes bowels started to move, (I know gross!) but this is a good sign as well. Sunday night Goat was holding Joes hand and well Joe opened his eye (the other one is stiched shut) and gave Goat a smile!:wings Yesterday he would open his eye and turn his head in the direction of family members. When Liz went to give him a kiss goodbye he puckered up. The doctors have placed a feeding tube into his gut and as such it should make him more comfortable and help with the feeding! There is very little brusing from the facial reconstruction and the site looks good. Sunday they let Joe breath on his own from 8 am until 10 pm. Last night they were going to let him breath on his own through the night and if he did they are going to remove him from the ventilator and put him onhumidified oxygen.:wings

Traci's news is about as up lifting. They had her sitting on the edge of the bed last night, and even though she is in pain she is smiling through it all. When I read the post from Monday it said that she has pnumonia and she is still out of it sorta speak. Liz has said that when the restraints come off she is going to hit someone for keeping her pinned down.

Will check again tonight and post what I can, if there is anything new.

Traci is doing well. They still have her strapped down so she can not pull on her tubes and she is begging with her eyes to have her arms released. She mouthed some words and is showing that she is having recognition of family. They have started to wean her off of the ventilator in preperation for having it removed. Her jaw is healing well and the doctors have said that it may be sooner than 6 weeks to remove the wires. She watches as people move about the room and her mom says that she is trying to say something. Today she starts with occupational therapy.

I am up early as I have a ton of stuff to do today however I was not going to let this one go un-posted.
Joe continues to improve. He follows commands intermittenly (sp) he was very agitated yesterday and it was hard for Liz to settle him down. He mouths "I'll be fine" a lot like he is trying to convince himself. He has mouthed "what happened", Traci, I love you, and he cusses. He does not like the restraints. The doctors have turned off his drips in preperation for today when they hope to move him into a TV monitered room and out of ICU. He is still pulling on his lines and tubes. He looked at someone by the name of Brandon and asked WTF? They have shown him pictures of his boat and he kept saying fishing, fishing, fishing over and over again. He seems to rec family, but his world is small right now. Liz went to the store to see if she could get him something to play with to keep his hands busy, they did buy him a stress ball and he tossed it at them. So she is asking if anyone has any ideas of what to get a full grown man to play with that is family friendly. NO porn! See I know how you riders are.

Traci is severly agitated and moving around trying to pull out the tubes. She is focused on being distructive and getting up they are trying to get her to sit in a wheel chair as she can not bear weight on her pelvis and right ankle. The doctors took the bandages off to allow the arm and leg to breath and there is a blister on her leg. They think that it is a burn from the motorcycle and it is healing. Like Joe she will be moved from ICU in the near future.:wings
