It's a quiet day in the office, so I just spent the last hour or two reading through this thread and looking at the photos.

It looks like such a great trip - and then I read this very sad news at the end! :(

Please accept my best wishes and condolences...

Sheryl's pictures have brought me many a smile:D. She, and you, have been an inspiration to me and many others here on this forum. May you find peace.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeoning of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

-William Ernest Henley

Gods speed on your journey Sheryl
and strength to you Donnie.

DONNY, I am so sorry for you loss. i only discoverd your rr this morning and i've been reading it all day. many times i thought what a lucky man you are to have a wife that will jump on the back of your bike and take off on such an adventure. there are not many like that. I wish i could say something to bring you comfort but i am at a loss. like many others have said, you will be in my thoughts and prayers too.

Donnie,
I have spent my fair share of time all over Mexico on and off the bikes. I always enjoyed reading your and Sheryls reports and seeing Mexico through yours and sheryls eyes. I am immensely sorry for your loss. I have no words other than "God will heal in his time".

Mary and I are here with tears in our eyes. You have our deepest sympathy. It was so good to spend some time with you and Sheryl recently. You will have to stand in with the black dog next door for Sheryl. Our prayers are with you and your daughter. Love you Mary and Farrell

Donnie, I am so sorry for your loss. Sheryl's beautiful spirit shined through in the stories and photos that you posted. She and I shared a love of old doors--looks she has stepped through one that we can't follow just yet. My heart is with you today.
