My GSA is banished from RMARs. Too many awesome dirt "roads" to explore. Do yourself a favor and bring the KTM next year...

As we're all learning, sometimes those "Big Bike" rides are subjective.
Having a knife at a gunfight comes to mind.

We Rode up from Tucson, next time we could trailer up, convoy style, bring dirt bikes and then we'd all be ready for any rides.

Doesn't help much if you're already out on the "big bike" ride when it all goes to crap... :deal

Well..... I am one that rode the Strom everywhere.....and I mean EVERYWHERE!!!!!.....before I decided that it is more fun to throw around a 300lb 650cc bike, instead of a bike that weighs 500lbs and has limited clearance.

The Strom is now an errand bike, a 2-up bike....and mainly sits in the garage.

I am just addicted to a powerful enduro for high mountain riding.

Just make sure your bike is plated. Unplated dirt bikes will not work with RMAR.

    Well, fine. Be that way.

Moab White Rim in late October on the GS "Big Bikes" would happen to be very fun and adventurous, and much easier than a certain pass which shall remain nameless. Bring some friends along too. My schedule is pretty open, since I am now single again.

ScramblerDavis, Blbiker56 and I are already talking about Canyonlands the last week in October. If we can make it happen, I will post in "The Rockies".

It will be an adventure/camping endeavor.

    Stay tuned.....

The 650 will be packed up like this......

I'm doing a fly and ride to Dallas in the morning to pick up my new (to me) BMW R1150 GS !!! I just hope Scrambler Davis got a heavy duty clutch installed cause this one weighs more than the F650... :evil

RMAR came at the end of a week of already riding around CO (many highway miles), thus the 450 was not along. Indeed RMAR is better suited for the KTM, and it will come up on a trailer next time. No German supertanker next time.

It all comes down to having the right tool for the job.
I learned a LONG time ago my 1150GS is the ultimate road bike.
There is nothing better than seeing he look on kids on GSXR's or what ever the current crotch rocket of choice is when I roll bye upright on the out side of em in a tight turn. Inevetably they ask "how many horse power does that thing have" and I respond with around 85. It kills em :evil
For the dirt I only ride a bike that I can pick up by myself :rofl That is my 450 "drink the kool aid" KTM

I just got the Icon helmet in yesterday. Pretty beastly! I want to send Icon some pics but I don't want to do anything lame. I'd rather get a pic of it in action. Anyone willing to lend a a hand?
