Have you checked all the fuses? Fuse F2 (10A) powers the dash and the turn signals. Fuse F6 (7.5A) also powers the dash and powers the brake lights. Horn is powered by fuse F3 (7.5A).

ok, here is the new part, complete with reinforcing bracket. looks like they did mold a new part number at some point after all. Mine must have been an early model bike that just got the old part I guess.

Glad it's the right part. Odd how the standard 650GS gets the un-reinforced one. Must be that the standard F650GS didn't suffer the failures like the Dakars did.

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks

    Welcome n00b!

I can't see where BMW still sells replacement decals for the front plastics separately. They seem to only sell the rear decals now. It appears if you buy the front plastics they come with the decals (fiche says "WITH APPLICATIONS"). But the plastics are ridiculously expensive (almost $500 USD).

So, options might include finding a good used side cover somewhere or trying some touch-up paint.

To me, scratches are just part of the patina of a well ridden motorcycle.

Stay safe and stay healthy, and again Welcome!

    Help needed...

    PUZZLED!?!?

Today I went for a ride and I noticed when I shut shut down and started up I get the "ABS" displayed on the screen followed by a display that shows "4 12 MLS 13-40 5309". The date and odometer gets returned as well.

My odometer and date is reset everytime...

I looked in my manual and couldn't find anything.

Everything seems to work otherwise when started

    See attached pics.

Check all the fuses. That is the display when it gets powered up first time after the battery has been disconnected. I can't recall which fuse it is at the moment. Could also be the dreaded "loose battery terminals" syndrome.

The 2nd screen tells you the dash firmware version & the model (13-40 = R13-40), have never decided what the 5309 means but is probably an error code

Motopychoman is right, most likely a fuse blown, have seen it before on more than a few occasions, check the fuses he mentions carefully

You were correct. Blown 10 amp fuse. I thought it something else with the computer.

Thanks to you and Wayne for the help.

This seems to pop up pretty often. That fuse is shared by the dash, the diagnostic connector, the accessory outlet and I believe the alarm system. I'm sure it's the accessory outlet getting shorted that blows it most often.

Hello any Sertao/G650GS owner on the Sunshine Coast in OZ. Stegzmoto would like a Sertaö/G650GS for a few hours to create some Stegz Pegz for these models.

Does anyone live in that part of the world who might be interested in “lending” their bike as a template.

    Be well and thrive.

In talking to Steve at Stegmoto - they need a bike to work from. I suspect if you ever pass by the Sunshine Coast on a trip you might drop in and they’ll take the measurements. How’re the countershaft covers coming on?

    Wotcha,

Nice job. Here in Europe we can get the single seat but not the luggage compartment. Can you indicate where you found your luggage compartment?
