I went to those races back in '02, as well as the Concours at Pebbble Beach. Motorhead heaven. Bucket list material for sure.

    Look forward to more pics.

After going to the races for 25 years, the concourse just seems silly. I could get all soapboxy here....but I wont.

    :D

Even though I lived in Monterey for 12 years, I never went to those and am sorry I missed them all.

Ive been going to these races for about 25 years. My folks used to take me when I was in grade school and we have pretty much gone every year barring a few.

My grandfather was a race car driver and a founder of the SCCA. He raced Jag XK's, MG's and most famously a Nash Healey that had placed 6th at Le Mans. Here he is in the #2 car.

We have been unsuccessful in locating almost all of his old race cars....it's been a lifelong dream of mine to put one back on the track.....but I digress.

I only started taking a camera to the track a few years ago. Here is what I got this year.

oh, I do have favorites and that will show in the frequency of the cars I shoot. Also, this year the featured car was Cobra so there were A LOT OF COBRAS.

    enjoy.

you know you're in Monterey for the races when you pull into a gas station and there are already 4 Bentley's in there

    The closeup shot?

and as far as the Ferrari, Im not sure. Most of the cars have racing history so it's possible that could be the car. but again, not sure
