Timely - As I was leaving for a ride this evening I reminded myself that I needed a second key.
Looks showroom brand new.
Did it come with matching side panels?
Yes, on the 2014 Deluxe.
Honda might have put the hook in my mouth had they just done that from the factory. Very tasteful.
The one I wanted and couldn't find!
Bought some SP Takegawa pegs. They're adjustable, but only from about 9-6 o'clock when viewed from the side. I was hoping I could drill a new hole for the pin and clock them further down, but the head of the bolt interferes and the pegs themselves would need to be machine more. Not sure I want to do that. I had previously bought some cheap Buell XB pegs on ebay. They're supposed to fit with some minor filing based on what I've found searching forums, but the pin diameter on them is larger. I don't have a lathe to make bushings, and didn't want to drill the pin holes on the bike larger.
You can sort of see how they're set further back a little here
They look pretty, and do improve leg angles a little bit. But they also push your feet slightly further apart, and transmit a lot more vibration. I hadn't realized how soft and squishy the stock pegs are until I removed them and handled them by hand. Not sure they'll be staying.
I also purchased an RS seat off Yahoo Japan auctions, that just came in. Now I have a second seat to have modified for a taller rider.
Currently I've rigged a cut up kneeling pad and some velcro straps....
At a little over 9,000 miles on the clock, I'm ready to replace the rear tire. It has some life left in it but no need to push it. I'm pretty sure it's the original Battleaxe and I can't say that I have any complaints about its performance. I don't really ride that hard anymore, so I'll choose longer life over soft and sticky. Cycle Gear will sell me the latest version, the T32, for 230.00 and mount it for 25.00 if I buy it from them. I may do the front at the same time because of age ( 8 years) more than wear.
Well after a long search I am back. I had a 2013 CB1100 and loved it. I sold it for an Africa Twin and loved that bike but missed the CB. Always wanted the Deluxe version but I guess they didn't produce many or sell many in the U.S. Found one and now I have the so called "Perfect Bike" for me.
What is this threaded insert doing in the middle of the oil level viewing port?
It appears to be an internal wiper to clean the inside of the sight glass.
I believe that you are correct.
Straight outta Pirsig !!!
Lucky you. Beautiful bike. And oh my those 4 into 4 pipes!
We lived in the same city at the same time.
I have a Sargent customized seat with a 1.5" rise and a 2" inch pullback for the pillion IIRC. I really like it, and the quality is fantastic. If you don't have someone locally to do the work, I highly recommend them.
Anybody with stock exhaust drill out the mufflers to get a deeper better sound?
I have two CB related items to post in the Flea Market: a safety wired oil filler cap, and a pair of nice mirrors. Both, at my usual friendly prices.
