Now that I'm an old guy, I'm done touring, and I like to poke along on back roads and I spend part of the year riding in Colorado. The preceding bike was a Wee Strom and the bike before that was a DR 650 thumper. I bought the CB because I thought it was beautiful and the fit and finish were exceptional, but I don't see any long highway trips in my future.

I had a CB500X and thought I would do more off road riding but never really did. So I found a CB1100 DLX and it's been great! I'd like to sell the 4 into 4 pipes and go back to stock so I can have a center stand. 20210612_191805.jpg 20210609_093523.jpg

I have the Staintune 4 into 1 on my 2013 CB and do have a center stand. I believe Staintune went under and has been resurrected in Australia. Awesome pipes.

Nice lookin' boots too. Are those from a W800?

Getting ready to give my cb1100 a freshen-up. I'm thinking of a new bar or clip-ons, full exhaust, front and read fenders, rebuilt OEM seat, and maybe some kind of front cowl (though I have never seen one that a really loved on the CB1100, even from Samurider).

The rear rack available for these bikes is very useful.

Having bought my 2014 Honda CB1100 used, I knew the time would come that I would have to check the steering head bearings.
The short story is that I really didn't need to. With 6,900 miles on it, this is what they looked like:
    082421 Lower bearing as removed.jpg

And while the bike was apart, I also changed the fork oil. It also was very clean and changing it was much easier than the steering head bearings. The only change I made was going from the stock 10 weight oil to a 12.5 weight oil (mix half the quantity 10 weight and the other half 15 weight).
I added fork boots that I got from NewBonneviile.com (same as my 2010 Thruxton) because they fit perfectly. I also use these "beefy" cable ties because of their high tensile strength, fatter width and UV protection.

Finally, I added a Dart Marlin screen to get just a touch of wind protection.
I now have to decide if I want to get rid of the "lollipop" mirrors and go with bar end mirrors. I'll make that determination later.....

If you list those 4:4 pipes, let this brother know. I don't know if I can afford them, but I sure would like to take them off your hands.

The CB is a niche now. But the emissions crap is killing a lot of the fun in motorcycling.

I got mine thankfully. ECU unlocked and running bias ply. Doesn't get much more fun than that. :super

excellent purchase on a very low miles RS. The RS is going to become a cult classic, if not already.

Speaking of, ....i could've used some RS suspensions out here to smooth out the edges.[IMG]
