This 2013 HNF ride was the first organized ADV ride I have ever done and also the first time ever meeting anyone off the ADV web site.
I gotta first say what a great bunch of folks! Everyone getting together to share a common love of the Outdoors, Motorcycles and fun.

Thanks to the ride coordinator Road Dad I think? Spectacular, absolutely great two days. My ass was so numb I was afraid to fart!

Thanks also to Nathan and Kevin I kind of busted in on their group and they took care of me. I really appreciate that. Thank you both very much!!

Flatwoods it was very good meeting/riding with you.

Nickgindy watch those dome topped bridges in the future!

Great Riding, Great Conversations, Great people. I plan on doing this again!

Oh yea almost forgot A++++ on the camp site at Twin Cedar Lakes super place, very hospitable. I hope you guys use them next year.

    Safe Riding everyone:D

Great riding this weekend! Thanks to all who put it together, especially you Muller...

I rode in from home in Jasper both mornings, and those were the coldest rides I've ever done. The ol KZ doesn't have hand guards, and I don't think heated gear existed back in 1975. Had to stop a few times on my way to warm up, but we made it. Had a great ride Saturday, but unfortunately had a charging issue Sunday and had to head home shortly after starting the ride. Still had a blast, and got some great shots from Saturday. You can see all the pics here, but the highlights are below:

The leaves were changing, with a few on the ground. Made for some nice scenery

Thanks for a great ride, everyone! BTW, anyone who wants to try their luck on the KZ400 Scrambler, feel free to stop by anytime! I'll warn ya though, suspension in 1975 wasn't what it is today...

    Yep awesome ride.

I didn't know if any of you noticed a lot of markings on the roads the first 30 miles or so on Saturday.

Those were for the 100 mile bicycle ride the weekend before(the Hilly 100)--------which I rode on :wink::wink::wink:
Not bad for an ole' man.

So while you wheenies were throttling up those hills----------I pedaled up them last weekend. :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:D

Nice! I also have a '69 CB350 cafe racer I've been building for the last few years. Ran my first race on it earlier this fall...

Good route and ride! I even ran into Woodsrat along the way a couple times and to show me no hard feelings he kissed me on the helmet, which made me feel good, just wish I could have got my helmet off first :evil. I do love him like a crazy older brother, maybe we are one step closer to getting him back.:deal
So come on back Timmy!!!!! We are like a big dysfunctional family, sure we are gonna make fun of each other and fight from time to time but at the end of the day none of us are right or normal :huh

See you all at the Loose Nut!!!!!

Bird house man. I couldn't pass this by without showing the group this "whatever you want to call it"
Pull up on the county road adjacent to this man's house and he comes running out the front door like he was shot out of a cannon....

I will forward gps coordinates to you tomorrow. As I recall, the loose nut route goes across st Mary's road about 3 miles north of loogootee. It is only about 1/2 north of your current route.

You are correct, he gets a kick out of people stopping by. He was fascinated by why our bikes sat up so high.....

    Can't wait till Saturday...

Great pictures everyone! I missed the bird house 'house'...where was that???

Here's my little report and image flood.

    Day #1

Josh hauled our bikes in his spank'in new used truck. Even came pre-dented. He just backed up to my custom loading hill. Thanks buddy!

Jeff Cooke invited several of us to bunk in his Brown county cabin. Very much appreciated Jeff.

After our big meal at Nick's English Pub in Bloomington...

...we did what every group of hardy adventure riders do. We went for ice cream at Jeff's daughters & son-in-laws place, Hartzell's Ice Cream. Yummy stuff! Thanks Jeff!!

Even went to the mall to buy some scented bath beads, etc.

Stuffed to the gills we bed down at Jeff's country cabin.

We grabbed breakfast at Jeff's and decided to just head west to pick-up the route in Green county.

Wish I could have gotten a better shot of these big draft horses. The Amish farmer was moving them down the road and they blocked the whole lane.

    Getting dirty now...

    Beautiful roads

Ran into WRJim, OBD, Big Dog and some others at the first gas stop.

We didn't stop for lunch so we got an early dinner at Rocky Point.

Just down the road from the restaurant there's this neat Celtic Cross. It's carved out of a single limestone spur jutting out
from a hillside above the river. More info here

    Good stories around the campfire.

Nick brought Jiffy-Pop. I didn't know they still made that stuff.
