That's the one! I am pretty sure that the clutch gave out. I could get it into gear, but very little power was getting to the wheel Even a mild incline on the logging roads were too much. Did you have an incident at the rally and had to leave too, or were you up at the campground for the camaraderie?

I was a participant but one of my teammates had some misfortunate as well. Such is the Roaming Rally - always some interesting carnage!

I talked to Hamburgler today and he's doing fine - just a damaged ego and sore shoulder.

Thanks for sharing - I was not aware of that other thread - I am glad Hamburgler is doing well. Cheers!

Here's a few photos I grabbed during the rally.

Next morning we were last to leave after cleaning up the empties and whatnot. We skipped the morning section of the route in Quebec and worked on some last minute bike issues. My bike was missing the bolt that the swing arm attaches to, the nut on the bolt that the motor mounts to the frame, etc

We started the route just before Burntlands. Tried some new trails along the way one of which had a water crossing that was about as deep as a bike could hope to ride threw (maybe n next years route :evil ).

Finishing the route in Calabogie and riding into the campground I was shocked there were only two lads there as it was about 6 pm I think. The entire afternoon we followed their two tracks. It was raining and bugs were brutal so we bailed and grabbed a motel back in town (turns out so did 2/3 of the folks in the RR). Dinner and drinks at the local pub

The next day welcomed us with blue skies :clap

Socialized at the gas station with other RR folks. Eric forgot to put a spacer in his front wheel the night before the rally and rode with a wobbly front wheel for the entire rally :huh

We started the route just after the Quinns trail (of which I hear there are a few epic tales from). Several hours of trails with next to no pavement. A few challenging spots but mostly just cruisy double track. We had an awesome day. Hundreds of kilometers of trails with very little pavement, I was really digging the route this day. Had some great moments in the zone, wot and just having a great time.

Only one issue with the afternoons route was a beaver dam turning the Hastings Rail trail into a lake. Chatted with a lad that evening wh attempted it on a 950 and said something along the lines of his bike was floating on its side so it was easy to turn it around :rofl

The Saturday night involved a few too many drinks and hearing about everyone's rides. Sounded like several crazy stories of folks getting stuck, drowning bikes, getting lost, etc.

Thanks to everyone who came out, I always enjoy listening to folks perspectives on the trails and hearing about their adventures.

Had a hell of a great time this week end.

This event is in line to be my best ride of the year.

    Pics and video to come.

Had a great time! Day 2 was absolutely awesome! Thanks again guys.....

btw...anyone find an Olive nylon bag full of tools on the first day? Would have been somewhere before the 511.....probably on that trail made for Hobbits with the tree branches that my bike couldn't even clear if it was laying on its side.....ask me how I know.....My trusty Ducati ball cap went MIA as well...tan in colour. More pissed about that then the tools actually.

Might go back and do Lingham june 8th:evil

His bike kept stalling once the water got deeper than the front wheel. Thought we had it sorted with a carb breather hose...but later in the trip it started doing it again. Something electrical I presume as the bike has proven itself a submarine in the past

    Same spot.

When people (with lower air intakes) started to honk the horn for me to turn around, I just had to pivot the bike around as it was floating on the side bags.
