All part of Cubs master plan. Lose to Pit and let them get closer to the Cards, then Cubs sweep Cards later in week giving Pit first place in the division. Season ends- Cubs/Cards play one game playoff. Cubs win, Cards out. Cubs go on to run the table and win World Series. At least that's what I'm telling myself-
Diabolical! Nefarious! This Cubs team is a sneaky lot and I wouldn't put it past them! OK, the winning the WS is pretty out there, but At least the Cards managed to win one in MIL yesterday. But 5-8 in September? Losing three consecutive series (PIT & CHI at Busch and three Ls @ CIN, last week...oooh le suck.
magic number to get into the playoffs for the Cards is 4 after last night; no need to press yet. Better to continue to try to patiently get healthy
Home run derby goin on in Brew City. 9 runs scored, 8 of em on HRs. 5-4 Cards after 4. And come on Cubbies! Holy hell I love September.
I was having lunch at the local sports bar today, watching the Cubbies beat the shit outta the Bucs. Bartender said who would have ever thunk you'd be cheering for the Cubs Cards are gonna sweep the Brewers tonight, then sweep the Cubs over the weekend
Cards hold off charging Cubbies in the last two innings with some great defense. Shaping up to be one hell of a post season!
Wow, as of this moment, all three teams are exactly where they were 10 games ago, with PIT 4 games back, CHI 6 games back. Given the last week of STL baseball, I'm pretty stoked about that. PIT still to win tonight, most likely.
I think the Cards do need to tighten it up a bit. Not sure if Molina's injury will play into the drama of the post season or not. It's fun to have such a race in "our" division. Jake Arrieta goes for his 20th tonight against the Brew Crew. Go Cubbies!
