In the NL it is almost as no other teams exist other then the Cubs, Cards, and Bucs... WOW this is an exciting close to the season.

Errata got his 20th tonight, amazing...

Ok so... Joe Maddon has forgotten more about baseball than I'll ever know, but I just don't get the excessive celebration the Cubs put on after "defaulting" into the post season. I guess maybe I'm getting old and cynical.
Pirates are hot right now and will catch the Cards. Cubbies in a one game playoff down in STL.
Now that would be some October baseball!!

The 3 game series coming up in Pittsburgh is HUGE for the Cardinals and we just lost one of our best starters for the rest of the year with a shoulder strain :baldy

Injuries have killed the Cards this year, and the guys getting hurt are all starters and everyday players. Having Yadi on the bench SUCKS...

While I had been thinking that would be a cool scenario, I doubt Jake Arietta allows them a win today, and the math is questionable. However, I'm with you.

That is how I hope it plays out.......

    What the actual fuck?

Get Adams, Holliday, Grichuk, and maybe Waino back. Lose Molina, Ramirez, and now Piscotty? Goddammit this is some unkind bullshit.

No matter. Same shit, different day, story of the season. One night in Pittsburgh and the Buc boys crumble. One more.

    Oh, and...10 fucking walks?

    Love that Jason Heyworld.

I don't know what is worse; being a Cardinal and waiting to get hurt or being a teammate of Jonathan Papelbon?:imaposer
The Cards have done it all year with their "next man up" mentality but I think they really need to tighten it all up. The Bucs and Cubs are hungry and playing great ball right now.
One of them will meet the Cards, and it should be a great series.

Well, even the Cubs won't be able to blow this - a four run lead and two out in the bottom of the 9th.

Congratulations, Cubs fans, and we'll be waiting for you in St Louis! ;)

I lived in St Louis for 10 years and loved listening to Jack Buck.

    Cha Ching.

Kind of cool looking back to March and seeing the responses. This young team wasn't expected to get to the playoffs this year. They are way ahead of schedule, and it will be fun watching them for years to come. Theo, Jed, Tom Rickets and Joe Maddin deserve a lot of credit for this season, but the playoffs ain't enough.

Baseball seems a lot better when the Cubs are actually decent. They have a lot to look forward to I think. Joe Maddon is a wizard no doubt about it.

His hair looked very silky smooth and it seemed he was wearing eyeliner.
Anyone else notice he looked a little GQ?
