Hey, that last rider is me. I was leading the ride from the rear. The photo ops are much better and it's really awkward when you're in front and the ride leader falls.

we had 180 people signed up and i asked the caterer to prepare food for 240 hungry PPs. anyway, no food was wasted; i even saved 3 pieces for myself which i ate the next day at lunch.

NOW you tell us! Prob'ly wise as we ol' pharts who get up several times a night to TCOB tend to be hungry at the same time, too. :shog

woke up saturday morning and wanting to ride. yes no, maybe not. i'm all stressed out for the what is to come. what if...i ride and get hurt; being the mastermind, i need to preserve myself for the evening festivity...can't miss it.

all i can do is enjoy seeing everyone gathering at the gas station and getting ready for their rides.

Airborndad found the mine. I haven't had time to research it yet. I marked the coordinates and will hit the library before long. This was the same mine that went in several hundred feet along existing rails. There were two forks and both got to hairy to continue. Next time, we leave a note exactly where we are going, leave the SPOT outside on one of the bikes, and bring some rope and harnesses. It was awesome.

As far as the pants, they didn't fit anyway...:rofl

matt.....you guys own it. i know a lot of riders who prefer the dr650 in search of their adventure, except the KLR riders are on top of the heap.

scott, get us the scoop for next year's rally.

also one we all missed is the U2 - Joshua Tree landmark.

I was ready to tear out Tae's wiring harness. Luckily Mike was there to show us about bump starting and towing a bike.

We were hoping that would count for something at Sat night's raffle. Or maybe for "most bikes towed"? Actually we just didn't know any better. Tae kept reminding us that people die here, so we figured we'd check with some of the *ahem* senor riders for route suggestions. Spafxer, Browneye and Tbarstow were very helpful. Looking back, maybe they were trying to get rid of us nOObs.:D

I'm having withdrawls by the way. I need to be out there again....soon!:becca
