2015 SATURDAY after Thanksgiving Coke Ovens SEABEE1 Memorial ride from Superior, AZ

In honor of our brother SEABEE1




We build, We fight!

We will be riding one of his favorite rides.

This is roughly a 60 mile loop of rocks, sand & many more rocks.
Staging at Superior High School by the tennis courts & plan to leave there at 8:30am

This is not an organized ride, I'm going & you are welcome to follow.

This is a B level ride, there are no services so pack plenty of water,snacks, tubes & tools. This is a rocky remote son of a gun. It is also a gorgeous ride. I've seen 950's & KLR's make it fine, but with exceptional riders. For most mortals a 530 or smaller bike would be more fun. Los Hermanos for lunch after the ride & we are normally there by 2pm.

Sounds like a blast! Are the Coke Ovens within reach? Last year, we fell short, I think it's becoming a bucket list thing now.......

You will definately be able to SEE the ovens. Whether or not you get to touch them is up to the land owner. The ovens are on private property and they have it fenced off sometimes. I'll plan a recon ride and go check it out in a week or two.

Will do everything I can to make this ride.

I have friend that knows the owner, he offered to try and get us permission to stop there. Those that want to can ride the step (AKA Honda hill), those that don't can go around but the last time I road it, that uphill was a little rocky too.

I hope I can make it on this ride.

I have requested someone to cover for me for half day Saturday so I can join the fun this year. One of my all time favorites and some awesome memories at the ovens.

Go back and check out the first RR that we did. Don rode his BMW gs1200!! It took us 12 hours to get out, and had to leave one gs on the trail, not Don's. And another guy on a gs did over 3k. worth of damage to his bike. I've never seen that guy around since! haha. Good Times!

Hey Eric, when are they going to let you ride the scooter again?

Where's Nightstalker? Haven't seen him in a while.

Just to be clear, if you show up with an inappropriate bike and struggle. After the obligatory pictures of you and the bike laying on the ground (assuming there is no serious injury), I will help you pick it up once, maybe even twice. After that I'm going to go eat lunch and call your mommy to come get you.

Clockwise or Counter Clockwise

We just got back from the pre ride. 65 miles, took us about 4.5 hrs going clockwise. The rains and 4 wheel traffic have made a few spots even more interesting . We all had a great time.
