A'ight . . . caught up to the f5irehose, tracking displays cleared for action, fresh cuppa near-espresso-strength java at hand, and a tangerine resting comfortably within, and w/~5min to the gun . . . . . Ready.
(and time to check email so see if that courier from Nigeria with the boxes of gold will be delivering today - :lol3)

There was an episode of Top Gear where they wanted to cross the Andes and also suffered altitude sickness. They tried to take Viagra against it :lol3 Any recommendations on that ?
Sildenafil and similar drugs are actually used to treat pulmonary hypertension (and the effect on erectile dysfunction was initially detected as a disturbing side effect)and hence can be useful in altitude sickness; however on wikipedia you will find:
    Altitude sickness
Sildenafil appears to improve some risk factors for high-altitude pulmonary edema but it is unclear whether or not it affects the rate of the condition itself.

I got SMS from bivaouac - Jan Vesely and Milan Engel have both leaked forks and almost totally damaged rims. Riders in bivouac were a bit scared about potential health problems due to 4600m height, where they will have to race today.
Actually one czech rider tried to prepare in advance for it - Ondrej Klymciw. He was almost past 8 weeks sleeping in hypoxic tent at home, what should prepare the body for performance in high altitudes.. Quite professional approach I think.

I think the only way for them to work together is if there's a consensus that they are totally lost.
Relationship between Goncalves and Barreda seems taut. If either feel he has an edge, he'll use it.
I also have feeling that they are realizing young Kevin is a legitimate threat and they'll ditch him given the opportunity.

    He's still milking it. :imaposer

Do you have details about his physical and bike trainings?
    He's definitely dedicated to this.

Giniel de Villiers shows us the sort of terrain their driving through today. Wouldn't like to have brake failure into one of those hairpins... long way down!

Definitely a team sport with every man for himself! - unless you are an appointed WC or team orders come into play - but then these may be worthless if the :dealsays differently - that is if you want the :deal renewing next time :evil

And riding potentially dizzy with the altitude - looks like great fun!

As I understood it, the service crews were going to leave the bivouac yesterday for the journey to Uyuni (while stage 4 was in progress) so that there wouldn't be such a bottle neck at the boarder; plus, there would be no chance of competitors and assistance crews happing to meet en route - as the crews would already be way ahead of them/in place in Uyuni last night?

Of course whether than means any team has left a wheel and tyre behind an outhouse on their way past, who knows... Coma is the Sporting Director now after all ;o)

Prokop doing a meerkat impression :-) He must have dealt with this situation as I see he's still 16th overall in the standings. Actually I see from facebook that Adam Malysz (325) helped him get back on 4 wheels.

Lots of WPs, close together - intentionally so positioned to keep a closer eye on the competitors at altitude?
