No apparent problems but he is certainly lacking his regular pace on the stage so far

His doing reasonably well at WP1 +00:03:21
His racing success actually happened bellow sea level.

Did he crash because of the bike or did the bike fail as a result of the crash? We'll never know....well maybe D will...

Indeed but he gets an F from me for poor diplomacy either way. Maybe it's because it's my bedtime and my bullshit meter is set too high but that press release comes across all wrong :D

"Water carrier" question: Can a water carrier win a stage? I get that the support rider is there to offer up parts if needed, but to do that he would have to stay behind the rider he is supporting. I suppose he could have a quicker stage and still stay behind but how does the team insure the WC starts a stage well behind the lead rider? I ask this because of team HRC. They seem to have either three lead riders and two WC, or two lead riders and three WC. Brabec is a WC, but he started 7th this morning and ahead of Metge (#19). I presume Metge is not a WC. Ceci started a few minutes further back and I am sure he is a WC. Anyway, can a WC beat his lead rider on the road?

He might be able to hang on to Barreda now though as he's in front by just 40 seconds on the piste

Ok, so this clip is from more than 30 years ago but still amazing to see how far the vehicles have come. Check out this plucky little Renault 4 trying to overtake a proper 4x4 (can't figure out what type it is, maybe a Mitsubishi?).

    HRC 3 lead riders?
    It is Barreda and Gonc.
Brabec, Cecil and Metge will assist the lead 2.

Classical water carrier, one assigned to each is somehow not used anymore

Yes happens now and again. WC is riding his pace behind his dude and dude started way earlier and wc doesnt know his dude had issues and the end result is wc beats him on the stage. We've seen this and a result wc pulls over on the next stage and waits

Which temperatures do we have to expect at those high altitudes during the early liason and on the stage during the day ?
