Uyuni Bivouac (empty)
Rebel X Sports FB
Day 6 - Connection 314 | Special Stage 327
After sleeping only 3 and ½ hrs last night, and starting in 69th position the SS, Manuel fixed the damages on the bike this morning, and finished the day in 55th position. This young rider is a hard to die man, and beside the dangerous crashed from yesterday is not going to give up… remember at his first Dakar 5 years ago he spent a day and night in the desert, making in time to the bivouac just to start the next stage...
Now back to work and let's get ready for tomorrow!! GOMan!
1 - Toby Price | KTM Red Bull > 04:03:44
55 - Manuel Lucchese | Yamaha Rebel > 04:43:42
Variation > 00:39:58
1 - Paulo Gonçalves | Honda HRC Racing > 14:30:07
54 - Manuel Lucchese | Yamaha Rebel > 16:37:40
Variation > 02:07:33

She probably saves it like that every five minutes or so....
Some flybys from the prologue, amongst others only german rider Ingo Zahn
There are about 16 fine riders still out there, and you've got to think that the ones at the back are dead tired (& altitude, too). They've clocked a lot more hours for their entry fees than the pro riders.
When Peru bailed they were forced to scramble to put something together...this is the result of having 2-3? months to make 5 stages versus having an entire year. For me...it's a bit lame. Drama free, etc. Still awesome just not very "Dakarish". Second week should be what they had planned from the get go and based on the terrain (using Fiambala sand for multiple stages) should produce a bit more excitement
The man from Lesotho, Wessel Bosman, just passed WP8
ANNIE'S ON THE MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cornejo's out, but the rest?

Take a look at his rider sheet; it says he is promoting winter sports in South Africa !!!
Those Bolivian presenters and announcers are impressive! It's a case of RedBull and 40 exclamation marks after every sentence!
I'm toasted just listening to them and I don't even speak the lingo!
And she is 52 minutes back on the 1st stage - stopped to do some maintenance? That's what she did for the entire day yesterday.
Annie Seel just got to wp1
You know, to be recognized as an international player in hosting Dakar is huge for Bolivia, and the citizens are likely very aware of this.
Meh . . . just another day at the office . . . for them!
The last two are reported out...
14:27 : Esteban Arial Lopez drops out
Esteban Arial Lopez, 27th last year on his first participation, has been forced to withdraw from the rally following a mechanical problem on the special.
06:58 : It’s all over for Damien Udry
The Swiss rider will not be repeating his performance of last year, when he managed to reach the finish in 58th position. Following a fall on yesterday’s special, KTM rider number 98 managed to get to the finishing line, but did not feel able to resume racing this morning. The rally has therefore come to a halt for this accomplished sportsman in the disciplines of motocross, enduro and even downhill mountain-biking. Will he be back in 2017?
It's a bit exhausting listening knowing what they're saying also....
Yes. Afriski in Lesotho. Great place
SEEL ANNIE (SWE)
Defined piste WRC and gravel all the way so far... the "off piste" offroad bit is still to come (hopefully?)
She started some two hours later than her scheduled DSS time... she is the last vehicle on the course... with the sweeper car on her f.... errr... rear view mirror.
What a difference a year makes---
The consequences of racing, where it's more than a 400 m walk back to the pits...
