Ceci shows at wp9, his pace suggests he keeps towing Barreda

“The hardest is yet to come”

[IMG]“Today was a long stage. I had a little headache, so it was difficult for me to keep focused. I tried to do as best as possible for me today and in the end I finished well without any problems. The bike is fine. I'm happy to be here at the end of this big stage. Now I need to go to the bivouac to rest and to try and recover from my headache to be better tomorrow. It was a really good stage today, but for me I think it is not too bad, because I lost a little bit of time only and I started behind him. In any case, we are at the beginning of the rally so the hardest is yet to come. I think that this moment is not important. What is important is to finish day by day without problems, to try and not make mistakes or lose a lot of time and to not lose the fight. I don't know exactly what has happened with Barreda, but if he has lost an hour in the fight for the victory and if also Ruben is out of the fight, we still have more than six riders to keep fighting, so it is still an interesting race. I will try and do my best, day by day

Or Barreda is towing him - I think I recall last year that Barreda had Jeremias on the back of the bus?

@too old and the rest, how is this years Dakar shaping up difficulty wise compared to the other South American Dakars? Have a feeling it's a bit disappointing.

Attrition appears to be mechanicals and injuries, not fatigue, exhaustion or psyche? Worlds most grueling race? even the tourists are still in it?

Honda knows that putting their money on the safest bet is not what the Dakar is about. It's about the underdog story. Without BB, RG, or some privateer challenging the impossible foe, what kind of race would it be? That’s all I’m saying.
