    Not just that.
He showed his bike, his navigation tower broke, just broke 60km before the finish. No fall just broke.
He keep it with one hand.
    Afterwards his bike just stopped.

He stared looking for the problem, and it was the nav tower which cut main wire, and his fuses were burnt.
He solved it and reach the end loosing some 15 mintes and 2 or 3 position in general standings.
He was not happy because he had decided to attack and was doig really well.

Tomorrow is his 26th birthday and will reach his home in Salta. The rest day is just there, he will be able to sleep at his house!!!

I know what you're saying (Toby is an alien). I don't think alien status would be a "corner" on a graph like this though. Wouldn't potential alien status be indicated by being within the area from 0 to say 30 seconds above the entire x-axis?

Alien status is for a guy who wins multiple Dakars :nod

Will Toby become the next alien? Who knows, there are way to many variables to even guess. Certainly shows potential :thumb

Being on top of the X axis means the rider is leading the stage (at that particular waypoint), he is faster than all others, took less time to arrive to that waypoint than all the others. Being on top of the Y axis means rider is physically ahead on the ground, the first one in time to arrive at that WP, the one opening piste (track).

The way WE (the F5, I'm not australian :D) defined, Alien stuff is to open track for a whole stage, meaning the rider had to navigate the whole stage, just the rider and his roadbook, no other riders in his sight, no tyre tracks on the ground, no dust to follow AND be faster than all the others on that stage. In the modern Dakar times, since Coma/Despres dominated it, no other rider apart from those two had achieved this (as far as WE remeber). Guys like my fellow countrymen Faria, Rodrigues and Gonçalves have managed to b in the Alien corner at some waypoints in a stage but (as far as we remember) they never opened track the whole stage and won it. (basically it means two stage wins in a row). Now, Toby did it. and we officially declare him an Alien.

Don't know if he can walk on water, but I now believe he can ride on water, he is the new messias :D

A bit more seriously, what the man did today in nothing short of amazing. We have to consider that he's done it in the absence of Coma/Despres, so others hopefully will achieve the same, will rise to be the aliens of the new era (post Despres/Coma). But Toby Price was the 1st.

    All that said, GO SPEEDY!!!

I believe to be an alien it was to be able to consistently open the track, and be faster multiple times; and obviously demonstrate it with at least a title or two?
The navigation was not hard today.

Brabec climbed from 24th overall to 14th today. If he keeps this up he has a great chance for a top ten finish. Would be a solid result for a debut at the Dakar
