@misc any idea why some of the bubble thingies bounce around on the screen so much, and the axis lines appear and disappear?

Is there is a way I can lock the rider-of-interest into, say, the exact horizontal centre of the screen so the motion around them becomes more pronounced?

At the top of the climb, day 2 that led to canyon gate when Rubén went out and quite a few lost a lot of time. There was the story that at the top there was an official pointing the way, which turned out to be a disaster.

Yeah, too bad Sam couldn't make it. I would have loved it if he had been up to it this year...

Even so, Speedy is easy to root for. He works so damn hard, always seems to be smiling (except maybe when his donkey is on fire) and has been doing this a long time. I feel like he has put his time in and hope the Dakar gods continue to smile on him.

BMW got out'd by KTM ? Or so it appears - They got the rules changed - The rational was BMW race bike was far removed from the production version that it was not fair. BMW spent a lot on the 650 race bike . KTM had the 640 production which was ridden just like that . So BMW just walked away and we only had 1 factory in the Dakar and that was KTM and then they won against themselves. Win at any cost. Something like that ...??? BMW still the biggest Motorcycle manufacturer from Europe ?

The elevation plot for Stage 7 that ASO has on their website and what they gave the competitors is completely wrong.

    Stage 7:
If you compare it with the Stage 5 plot you'll see they are the same, except the position of CP's, CH's, and gas stops.
    Stage 5:

I did a rough job of mapping Stage 7 and this is what I have (see my elevation plot below). I verified the elevations at known points along the course and mine is correct at those points. The gas stops and CP's may be off somewhat as I didn't spend any time working those out. It appears a large section of Stage 7 is the same as Stage 5, but in the opposite direction.

Makes sense - I did not know that .

This is Pankl ownership - They also own Carillo and CP piston - Used by many factory teams in the USA

    La Financière de l'Echiquier 46%
    Semper Constantia Invest GmbH 11%
    Swisspartners (Liechtenstein) AG 10%
    Raiffeisen Kapitalanlage GmbH 10 %

Carrillo-owned K1 Technologies (formerly the crankshaft division of ... Pankl, the parent company of CP Pistons also owns LA Crankshaft.
