    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Race
    suspended!

The race has been suspended for the time being as a result of the violent thunderstorms sweeping through the second timed section. The sudden rise of water levels in a río around kilometre 350 precipitated the decision.

Hope everybody makes it in without incident be a bummer to have something stupid knock you out after your guard is down. As soon as the sun comes up I guess I'll do yard work, nothing like the smell of Shindaiwa Pre-Mix in the morning!!!

:clap:clap:clap Really nice to see the way the people of Bolivia embrace the rally and get behind the DAKAR.

Reading through the SS7 posts I really liked BlueBulls translations and comments about President Morales and his podium flag off this morning of competiors.

Neals commentary confirmed what I felt to be the case, regarding the Presidents affinity for the event... he genuinely enthused about the whole deal... and it shows!

    Viva Bolivia!!! :thumb:thumb:thumb

The motorcycle race has been suspended, but the trucks are duking it out in the first timed section. 2013 champion Eduard Nikolaev holds the fastest time after 90 kilometres of racing. The Kamaz driver beat Federico Villagra by 34" and Andrey Karginov by 44" at CP1.

The primary concern is probably the situation where they have to fish out multiple riders from torrential river crossings etc. Sudden heavy rain in high desert environment = flash floods.

It took a while, but I guess live timing now handles neutralisation times again. It's still manual work, so please be patient while I'm fixing stuff ;)

    +1 BC

my bet is they will void the second sector... only the time set on the first sector SS7 will count to the scratch result for today... too many anomalies and variables, once they "suspend" the second sector, to calculate equitable results.
