Albeit the wrc stages, but he did ok the other day open to close.
Not according to the official Dakar site
Price start 07:00 (1)
Goncalves start 07:06 (3)
If they restart after the neutralised zone in start order, the six minute gap would be reinstated
Yes if they restart on race positions, Paulo was 2nd and Toby 4th at WP5 so again a six minute gap the other way round but still four minutes apart on the ground at WP7
Must be wrong what you have been looking at? - Paolo started 3rd and Toby 5th today, so 6 mins behind Paolo on the course - they start after the neutralised zone exactly as they arrived at it, so it is as if it doesn't exist.
At wp 6 Toby was 2 mins quicker than Paolo, so 4 mins behind him on the course. If Toby wins today and Paolo 2nd then he needs to take more than 2 mins off him as Paolo will start 2nd tomorrow and if Toby is opening then the chances are Paolo will take nearly 3 mins off him.
Edit - at wp 9 he is 3.44 ahead, so he has Paolo in his sights on the track!
Mark or Cyril would have made it their business to find out. Not sure how, but I have been a refuel as a spectator, so conceivably team people could be out there, with a live link to this page.....
No but seriously you make a good point. But somehow the aliens always seemed to know what the other guys was doing. One of the reasons why they were aliens, and maybe TP is not yet?
Not even warm beer and cold meatpies could wipe the "shit eatin' grin" off of the faces of all the inmates down in the Ozi Forum... that's what Arth...!
If they restarted with the same time gap as WP4, Kevin and Gonc shoul be riding together, right?
wait wait toby it is 17 minutes to france tv, we want to see you live finishing.
14:26 : Bikes: Price now virtual leader
At the last CP before the finish of the special, Toby Price (KTM) has a lead of 3’44’’ over the official Honda ridden by Paulo Gonçalves. As a result, the Australian is now the virtual leader in the bike category general standings.
Nasser is still leading.
Sainz gained a minute to Nasser.
Peterhansel gained a minute.
Loeb lost five minutes.
The liaison must be an killer on this bike, I salute you, ten clapping emoji please (when I learn to do that)
14:29 : Cars: Loeb stuck in the sand!
The first sand dunes have not been a pleasant experience for Sébastien Loeb who is reported to be stuck in the sand on the special. This mishap should not have too many consequences for the leader of the general standings since he seems to have only been halted for a couple of minutes. Watch this space…
Why use a CH instead if a liason?
Pretty much the same thing other than the CH is considered part of the special and has a precise check in time.
So it's an enduroclock type of section... avg speed goal and all that?
Simpler and it maintains the same "spacing" between competitors into the second ss sector... instead of "re-grouping" to the 3 minute start gaps.
Go Brabec.....go Go GO !!!
The difference in time on today's stage between 1st and 9th is 17 minutes. Good to see, no more all top twenty within 60 seconds of each other. Nav and terrain being the difference
More specifically, there is likely a DZ and what amounts to a minimum (avg) speed to get there on time? So miss it on either side and penalty?
