There is no "15 minute penalty" (1st engine change) showing in the table... but normally that would not show up till the end of stage 10 (tonight) in any case.

The question is whether he "lifted the cylinder" (no penalty) or "split the cases/exchanged motor with another Honda rider" (in which case a 15 minute penalty applied to both.

unless we get insider info, or a press release - we will know on the penalty lists this evening.

For the moment Gonk is 34 minutes down on Toby in the overall general classification

    Etienne talking to GAPS (IT-specialist).
I get a call from Marc, we must do something with the times.
I spoke to a few and it is best, we do it so, GAPS, you think I can rewrite the program in a few hours, overnight, You can choose, I only can give manually penalties or time back your choice, but for what stage, stage 10, ET: non, non, stage 9, GA: ah oui, etapa 10 - etapa 0 = 9, logic, this marc boy, he fooled us with a prologue. I get confused all the time.

To me HRC, or someone in HRC, is struggling to keep his head afloat and show something in the end, results are pretty shitty regardless and will never smell like roses... yes perhaps bagging again on HRC, I'll get over it soon, I just need to go ride for a while :dhorse

For the experts - looking at the foto from Gonk, they dont seem to have a radiator protection/cover, is it really like that ??

AND YES, lets go racing !!!!

    POINT OF INTEREST

at the present moment (50 minutes till SS10 start) the ASO official POSIS timing, shows start times for the MOTO's that DO NOT reflect the "10 top riders start together" scenario. They are posted at the usual 3 minute spacing... with Toby Price listed as first away at 07:00 ARG (Dakar time).

Dang, everytime I check the results they're different:baldy! I'm sorry but I can't undo and then redo fantasy results everytime ASO change their mind, so fantasy stage got canceled after CP2 I guess...

I don't mind if they have to cancel part of the stage for some reason, but the way they do it and then the whole conundrum with the timing is just a load of horse poo:topes. And it's not the first time it's like this - this happens every year. Every year time and time again! To me that's a sign of either complete incompetence, complete ignorance or maybe both. In the year 2016 you can get weather reports for every grain of sand on this planet for every minute of the day. In this case just say before the stage it will be shortened and it's fair for all.

Not to mention they clearly don't have a plan B if something goes wrong. Hell, I even doubt they have a clear plan A for what it's worth. They just try it out and lets see what happens - if it doesn't work, we're just gonna say we're french and make up the results like we always do. That, for me is INCREASING the risk for competitors and not DECREASING it:nah! My 2 cents, anyway.

    Phew ...
In the ~500 page epic adventure book which is the F5irehose, a 20-page appendix managed to sneak in between chapters 9 and 10.

Very sad to see the Jr Gordini dropped, fingers crossed to see that budding talent return next year even faster, smarter, tougher! :pynd
Toby mate, don't get run over tonight! :uhoh

Are there any non HRC Team guys who are riding the same Honda but well down the classifications that may get their arm twisted for financial reward to do the swap to keep all HRC riders running. Similar to CDP the other year.

Now it's been a long catch up full of histrionics, piss and vinegar but despite loads of depressing oratory (and some very good points interspersed) I didn't see anyone mention Brabec's post-race interview where he said:

So it's hard to determine exactly where he got it, but he knew the special had been red flagged before it was over and was just cruising to the end. Looking at Mischa BT of the final timing point, you can see they are not that far separated on the ground, so it is reasonable that most of the group on the right of the screen knew as well. It is also reasonable to assume that some of the riders who finished physically on the ground after Brabec and subsequently complained about pushing to the end are playing games. The BTy:

I can't believe Robbie isn't bent out of shape, but could it be that he has found a mirror image that is as nuckin futz as he is & see promise of a podium in 2017?

No, Andy Caldecott's death was racing. A motowarrior going out to a motowarrior's passion. Michael Hernik - I remember him, I remember his name, died last year of a thoroughly avoidable non-racing condition which people were at risk of today. I don't care if I'm the only damned person on here to think it, I am happy to sacrifice a little bit of my viewing pleasure to know that no-one died from heat stroke last night.

Van Pelt had to quit in the 2nd stage last year, serious heatstroke and he was being monitored for kidney failure many weeks after...

Starting the slow clap for Garfey! Come on you can do it just make another pot of coffee and turn your screens on this thread will be useless without you posting the rest day date and stage wrong. Your obsession with TP saying "We" is bordering on well obsessive.
Just enjoy the race you have no control over any of it.

It's what ultimately put Sam out also - after that misdirected call from the ASO sending him on a Foreign Legion assault course carrying his bike for 2 hours in 50 degrees without water!!
