"Heat" "Rio" "Mud".....I am curious what "Troy" comes up with this time :thumb

Once you see it, it becomes painfully obvious.

    Good morning "Troy"

So the question is: will they take Toby (aka Troy???) back to area 51 and bisect him to uncover al of ASO secrets?

"Only allowed to stop 15 minutes at CP2 on the stage 9 special, the Portuguese rider spent more than one hour there trying to repair the hole in the radiator of his Honda.."

Is this the reason for Speedy's penalty?

But weren't the times given from CP1?

I'm as confused as if i was on those dunes :lol3

Maybe a bit more light on the matter from the Live Comments of today?...
    "Bikes: another penalty for Gonçalves
Finally, for Paulo Gonçalves the Dakar 2016 has been one of false hopes and disappointments. Re-integrated into the race the day before yesterday due to the premature finish of the stage, the official Honda leader, thanks to this providential helping hand, held on to third place in the general standings. After a good special yesterday (fourth, 6 minutes behind the day’s winner) he even gained time over his nearest pursuer in the general standings. Unfortunately for him, the race officials handed out a new fifty minute penalty, almost surely killing his hopes of a podium finish in Rosario. Only allowed to stop 15 minutes at CP2 on the stage 9 special, the Portuguese rider spent more than one hour there trying to repair the hole in the radiator of his Honda "

    Do I hear 4 ?????

3 same posts on one fkn page??????

    Seriously ?????

    WTF !!!!!!

EDIT TSC: you must be new here...

the "old record" (from 2013) was something like 11... sometimes it went on for pages... that is what spurred the need for "cliffnotes".

    as an aplaud :clap (from me) to all the f5irehose posters/contributors this year;

absolutetly top caliber content variation of information and minimal repeat posts/doublettes... take a well deserved bow, everyone. :bow:thumb

Apparently Troy was in the UK last year, John Mitchinson (ktmmitch) of Rally Raid Products posted a picture on the vendor thread from a ride he and Troy went on and stopped only a couple of miles from my old house..... But only the bikes appear in the shot???

    The conspiracy deepens!

But then again how could Troy be a computer algorithm and be a fan of Monty Python? No computer generated entity could ever "get" Python!

This is starting to look like the Spanish Inquisition......

and (altogether now) no one expects the Spanish Inquisition!*

*i must of course point out that this is historically incorrect as you were always given notice that you had to appear before the inquisition

Gonk...this penalty would have only happened because of a protest. KTM :nod There is a reason KTM win every year, not just the best bike, best riders, best management, etc....but also because they play the "game" better. I'm a huge Speedy fan and can't imagine the emotional rollercoaster he has been through in the past few days. Your out, your back in, your out again.

I was always curious how they got permission to use a 690...now its quite clear. KTMmitch was either bought off or blackmailed.

I tried to investigate about Goncalves and it looks like, he´s been repairing his bike on the provisional break (designed to cool down during high temperatures) around CP2 and missed his start time as the repaired the radiator for much longer time. So he missed the start in the next part of the stage and it´s the same as when rider miss the start slot on the refuelling or so - they count exact time of the "delay" in the penalty. So that´s explaining why he gain penalty with seconds...

    Delayed start
Due to the helicopters being severely tested yesterday in locating and providing assistance to competitors in difficulty in the around Fiambala, the rally's aircraft were unable to reach the starting point of today's stage before night-fall yesterday. For obvious safety reasons, the start of the stage has been delayed until all the resources that make up the air cover are operational.

Iam just going to spit this out

    Is Coma a god

and those who worship this god would prefer their god to be the last true god of the mythical Dakar......back when it was the "real Dakar"

Or am I just dribbling crap waiting for the next leg to come trickling in........

    :)
