We'll see when he physically goes through WP9 and where he stands. That's what my math is telling me.

    fourth!

The young Frenchman taking part in his first Dakar has put in a major performance. Encouraged by the pace of his team leader and the day's winner, Helder Rodrigues, Adrien Van Beveren picks up a very fine top 4 finish on today's special.

Sorry, my starter didn't work on the way to the computer this morning, so I'm a bit late getting here!

In the 80's several sidecars finished. But the rules were different back then. They didn't throw you out, even if you completely skipped a stage.

In 2006 we had a problem with our countershaft sprocket which took a couple of hours to fix. Like Creed/Street in the second Gordini, we were told to skip a major section of the course because we were running so late. They threw us out the next day for missing too many waypoints. The lesson there is, ignore the officials if you can in order to keep going on the course.

Motocross is no problem, but desert off-road or rally is crazy difficult!

The Orga told Creed/Street to skip the section?

The word I heard was they were told it was "ok" to skip the section. That turned out to be bad advice.

Sheldon said in one of the vid they were told to go to the end of the stage because they were late. He also said they had clutch problems. Jonah knows the deal, my guess the Gordini would not of made it on the special.

Interestingly, his pace over the last couple of WP was only about 10 minutes slower than Helder.
