Hey Myway, ASO is implementing tricks to try to screw us up. The elevation profile for Stage 5 and Stage 7 show the identical same elevations, but the routes, kilometers, and other information is different. The elevation profile for Stage 5 may be the correct one for Stage 5, but the elevation profile for Stage 7 can not be what they show. See below. I mapped Stage 7 without using the elevations, but when I went to check my map against their elevations, it's not even close to the same. HogWild 1, ASO 0 !!!

The French TV4 and affiliate FranceTV networks coverage of the DAKAR in previous years has been FAR SUPERIOR to thta of Eurosport.

If you have not already, make sure you get yourself linked into it... and if French is not your first language - brush up. It is Dakar essential viewing the last few years IMHO.

Spectators zone pdf 5, pdf often has the wrong lat long in their writing and with map, then check the google string. like this point Z4, with not a red line in their map. blue one. totally different. Looks like it is the stage 7 point.

Did they mix stage 5/7 maps in the pdf?

Yep this is a workaround, thought there was some code in the sting to do it.
But I use this. thanks. Used it before.

You´re right - with the information from the F5irehose and France 4, Eurosport is kind of unnecessary to watch ...
Noticed this yesterday evening ... waited 3 more hours for the Eurosport report and there was nothing new and not even very great video sequences (like Barreda struggling in the mud)

France tv late night, has some vids in it from that day's stage, where man from behind is filmed the ones that struggling through the stage. As it gets more .............. behind the competition scene.

    TIP:

Open this page first, when you start your day, and open then at the top of the screen your other UNREAD F5 pages.

    EDIT: TSC

This is a VERY good f5 tip from myway... most of the "questions" on where to find what that have been asked so far on the f5irehose, can be found in the F5 resource material sticky thread.

    Mornin' all :wave

    Cliffnotes for SS2 are all updated;

the play by play of the Special Stage 2... including Toby's win over Ruben, Bam Bam playing tailgate (once) more and the debate over whether the female alien has a coned fork... or not?

Sebbe does good on the damp WRC stage (no surprises there) and Mudboy shows he's a fast learner.
RG loses a few positions on the moist gravel and mud... bet he is waiting to square off at some PUG's on some real off road desert.

Garfey and the f5 night zombies have initiated "slow clap" mode already for some of our beloved backmarkers, TV France has a few more converts (best DAKAR TV coverage programming EVER :nod) and the f5irehose is now well and truly under way.

Between myway, Hog and garf... all the pre-requisits for the f5 start of SS3 today (tuesday) have been put in place...
an the cliffnotes are up to date to page 64 of this the OFFICIAL coverage f5irehose thread.

With that said... I am out for this mornings start... so F5IRE IN THE HOLE (F5ITH) is left in the capable hands of you good people. :D

Have a great day out on the cyber-stage today my friends... the level of good content and knowledge in this place is awesome... definitely some new f5 aliens stepping up to the line. :clap:clap:clap

The transport liason to the DSS start for SS3 has commenced... :thumb

Morning people, the photo of the crash is probably the "photo of the stage", how he managed to ride to the ASS after that is amazing...

What's the DSS time for Price today?

I'm having the same issue (but because it's the kids' bath/bedtime hours), is anyone recording the shows?
