Good point about the helicopters. And thank you HogWild for all your efforts! (Even if the stage is about to be cancelled)

I have friends in the special and they are reporting to have been raining really hard. One friend of a friend is in a bike and mentioned that near Las Perdices he could nothandle his bike as it was slipplery as soap.

It wont surprise me if they shorten todays stage.

I'm amazed at how you do those maps, but I can't really extrapolate much from them.
Also, my puny computer can't even run Google Earth.

No, Homer's quite right. No heli, no mumbo. But it's just rain, not a sandstorm. Plenty of rescue pilots fly in hurricanes when they have to.

Well I noticed it and am in awe of just how you pull this together - I have trouble plotting a route from A to B on my sat nav ..........:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

It's fun to open the route in google earth and then try to overfly it with the flight simulator :imaposer:imaposer:imaposer:imaposer:imaposer:imaposer:imaposer

And Im in. Hah! Told you Laia would be reseeded :deal

Not a bad thing in my view. As if your placing is going to make a difference for most..... She is an elite rider, and so the ASO would cite safety reasons for sure.

Unfair on the part of a guy running say 30th maybe, but what are his chances of a podium even at this stage - in reality?

This is what I love about the Dakar: Every year within the 1st 3 stage everyone hates the ASO :razor

I just love the drama, and if it wasn't French it would be a whole lot more boring.
