That means we all collectively have to step up our game. The "Like" button should drastically reduce the number of "+1" posts (and reduce scrolling through what has been in the past a lot of repeated posts). Personally I much prefer when posts have more substance than "Mudboy in the ASS." The absence of Doyle and Packmule (in past years) will, and has, removed a great deal of posting that added useful context to the F5irehose thread.

In other words, our lazy postings will no longer be corrected/expounded upon by one of the AdvRider greats. So, let's put more thought into those keystrokes before clicking on the post button.

Oh, and Troy (and others) are still here. All is not lost.

How did you find time to wrench between all the self portraits with every single person in the bivouac?

And from up North...Aldo Racing once again has their Toyota entered. Hoping they crack top twenty this year...each year the car category gets more competitive. There used to be a handful of competitive cars, this year there are 15? going for the podium and 35-+ trying for a top twenty.

Are you sure? I don't see them on the entry list, and my understanding was he wasn't going again. He IS planning on racing Silkway Rally.

Havent looked at the register...thought he was...damn shame. They were gaining so much valuable experience. Silkway, that would be a cool experience I suppose.

I have been searching for a schedule from NBC Sports. (Dakar ASO says the US broadcaster in NBC Sports) I have not found anything though. I'd love to set the DVR, because you know they won't show Dakar at any reasonable time.

USA feeds generally only show highlights. To get good live coverage youll have to watch for the thread which shows you how to broadcast south american and euro feeds.

I can't see them yet either. If I remember correctly from last year, the Dakar recaps didn't show up on my cable's digital "guide" until a few days out from the start. Typically, I can see shows out two weeks and set my DVR to record them.

I believe Scott Bright got the word from the Doctor yesterday regarding his wrist. I'm hoping no news is good news, but I can't imagine the pressure of coming off a serious injury three months ago (only 20 days since the last op) and contemplating Dakar in a matter of days. Dave do you happen to have an update? I've got all fingers crossed.

In other news, has Mischa checked in?

Hi Deadly...not this year I'm afraid! A few reasons. 1. After 4 years in a row the whole team and our families needed a break. 2. Work. 3. The route this year didn't inspire enough to overcome 1+2. 4. Silk Way will be awesome and there is only so much budget and time to go around! So if it's ok with you guys I'll hang here this time!
