That was a team decision with I had nothing to do. May be they were so good they did not think they would need any :D
Jokes aside, I would not want to be the mechanic that does the switch...

    Old Jack Africa DAKAR proverb...

"If it's not nailed down, or has someone keeping an eye on it 24/seven... it will go missing!" :nod

Dimi, the Suzuki teams dilemma is just the latest (over last four or five years) incident of things that have been stolen during transit.

A real last minute spanner in the works no doubt... build a bike over 6 months... then significant change to the navigation equipment the last 24 hours... less than ideal.

The Honda main team is HRC team. The brazilian rider belongs to Honda South America team along with two argentineans and a french guy that is racing in Brazil for over a year.

What are some of the bits you've heard go missing?

Perhaps you cud elaborate for the shipping illiterate like me on how the fuck items in a sealed container get tampered with especially with terrorism Etc absolutely changing the way shipping is done?

I mean when can such bits be ripped off the bikes?

A great deal of the material sent with the Official ASO ship from LeHavre to Buenos Aires is NOT in sealed containers... majority of the vehicles are under deck cargo (car ferry style).
