It was not at all directed at you, just some finger ramblings. Although Robby is more of a WFO guy.
Wow, Mudboy has race pace...impressive
Just experienced my first F-5 this year... its ON !!!
How far to the bivouac?
Looks like he's taken some driving lessons during the off season!
Heads up for EuroSport coverage >>> 23:00h CET.
Or in about 90 minutes wherever you are.
toyota on first and dutch!
about Robert van Pelt he really surprises me.
top enduro guys , most are new to the game but Hans Vogels isn't and he is a former Top 10 WK enduro rider too, and dutch of course.
i hate to start cheering for Robby right away in fear of jinxing his silly azz..... he can do that just fine by himself..... but....
i would seriously love to see him kick some AZZ !!!!
he has been working with Loeb (and they turned in IDENTICAL times)
Someone mentioned re seeding!
That ain't going to happen today.
That's the whole idea of the prologue to seed yourself!
If Laia has finished 108th then that is where she will start.
I think re seeding is to reduce the danger when a top rider finds them self down the order through no fault of their own. I don't think it would be fair on other riders if it was applied after today's stage.
Could be a difficult day for her tomorrow but I bet she comes through it with a dusty smile! I'm sure Ted will take up the challenge of scrutinising pictures of Laia after tomorrow!
Her starting 108 (and assuming no reseeding) pretty much blows any chance at a podium.
Only 11km, but 11 important km's
I agree and wonder what starting 51st will do to Gonc's chances
Cyril starting before Peterhansel and Loeb....I love it
One thing we know for certain is that things are never quite as they seem in the Dakar. I'd have my money on her being re-seeded.
Rememberer this guy?
He saved Despres ass a few years ago.
5 - DABROWSKI MAREK (POL) HILUX +00:00:05
How about the the pretty boy that switched to cars too soon?

Polish bikers are handy at the wheel.
Here's the thing: how are you going to set a proper start order when you have 300+ racers? They said about a third of the riders are first timers, who knows how fast they are? Oh, sure, they can TELL you how fast they are... they'll all think they should be seeded about 11th.
I've been in charge of trying to figure start orders for "only" 150 racers. It's not easy. You are given next to no history on them, and you often have no data that's directly comparable from one racer to the next. (Racer A took second in X series, Racer B took third in Y series)
So this 11k section is actually an very FAIR (which is important) and easy to measure (from the oganizer's point of view) and easy to get the data from in a timely fashion (since the start and finish are pretty close to each other) method of getting a snapshot of everyone's speed potential. And then you get an entire night to set up the start order for the next day.
Essentially, this is qualifying. But it counts.
Watch Vogels he is better than van Pelt.
Means he will be fighting for the next 3-7 days just to get back to the front. Anything can happen but his odds of being on the podium just went down, way down
she is starting 116th....could you quit with the negative waves, think positive thoughts
