50-50 category here too... if its south route no fuckin way...LOL
That day 2 really killed ya, huh?
Iowa's flat. What's wrong with you guys?
Unless I somehow meet my untimely demise, I'm always in for RAGBRAI.
yeah..... day 2 and 3.... sagged it in from the halfway town on day 3.... was too hot and the wife got really dehydrated and burnt to a crisp sunburn wise even with liberal application of waterproof spf 70 sunblock every 2 hrs...we went for fun, and when it stops being fun, we stop riding.... simple as that...LOL
Ain't no shame in SAGing on RAGBRAI. It's supposed to be fun, not a systematic form of self torture.
Now you tell us.
It's like Lance Armstrong married the Beverly HIllbillies.
Story time! A few years back, when Lance was just Questionable Lance and not Disgraced Lance, he did RAGBRAI for the first time.
He mostly rode with a peloton of fast folks out in front.
Now, many members of my team are softies. But we all eat, breath, and live bikes. For some on the team, this sometimes translates into legit hardman credentials.
Anyway, upon learning that Lance was up ahead, one of said legit hardmen lays into it, setting pace with a quarter barrel of beer in a BOB trailer after Lance.
Upon catching up to him, he quietly hands him a team koozie and blasts down the road, leaving Lance in the dust with a commemorative beer koozie to mark the occasion he got whooped by a keg of beer in a BOB trailer.
That koozie may have marked the apex of Lance's career.
Business opportunity for RAGBRAI... Kybos with AC for $1 each patron. We'll make millions!
Charge by the minute or there's no incentive for your customer to leave.
This could be a decent ADV-Ragbrai accessory.
Party bus for Ragbrai or Tailgaiting. We are selling because we will not be on Ragbrai next year. It has a roof rack, bench seats with storage below, padded seats, more storage on the rear of the bus, water bottle holder rack to hold beers and cocktails, new wireless stereo system, water tanks on top for showers. The bus is classified as a motor home, so NO need for a special license; a drivers license will do. The smaller bus makes it easier to drive, but can still comfortably hold 10-12 people. We used it for Ragbrai and we have put over $7000 of vehicle improvements and maintenance. We have receipts for all the vehicle work. Approximately 176,000 miles, but ask any good car mechanic and they will tell you that these vehicles were built to last.
Beat me to it.
That's what you get for adding me to your group.
I've seen that bus around.
It makes me sad not to see the terms RAGBRAI, bikes, and beer at the top of the Sports forum every time I check in.
2017 thread now!
Want to go so badly... We tried for this past year, but too many things conspired against us.
Mr Head, where's the team van you talked about? Ready for 2017? I think the YakClan can make it.
My plan is always to win the support lotto, so they haul my crap. Then camp. Pay for ice cold showers and dry myself with a wonderfully clammy chamois.
Or Cham-Wow. dealer's choice.
But, my target year is 2018.
2017 maybe full of family stuff I have to do. Though one never knows, what will hit one in the face like a gob os spit from a passing truck.
Crap. His chops fueled me well.
