Thanks for the confirmation guys. I could try wrapping the heck out of it. Snowmobile covers actually fit off-road bikes pretty good too.

Or you could move to a reasonable climate where you don't have these white people problems

Since i keep seeing Anders at the PB300/PB500 rallies...i am curious as to if i can ride this event....
i started riding offroad arnd 2009, never got into it until 2010-2011...i usually do a couple of enduros a year..start way back and end way back...but i finish them...same with Dualsport rides....
i have a KTM 690 that would be perfect for this ride i guess....now is this something that i might trash myself and my bike if i do it??

    "Might".... sure, but probably not.

If your bike is in sound mechanical condition then running it hard won't hurt it. If it's in disrepair or about to grenade something then Sandblast might accelerate the inevitable.

If a days enduro doesn't trash your body then Sandblast won't either. If you crash, well who knows. With all riding the key is not to crash!

I have ridden sandblast four years now and crashed last year pretty good but if you can ride the jersey Pine Barrens I believe you will do fine and enjoy it very much. Just go at a pace you are comfortable with.
On top of that I can almost guarantee you won't meet a nicer group of people to spend the day riding with

If you can make it through the PB500, there's no question, you'll make it through Sandblast. A 690 is a fine bike to ride, and it's unlikely you'll find anywhere else where you can open up that thing. :ricky

I get to race this year! I can't wait!

When will the signup start / entry fees get posted?

I would be interested in taking Bills class on Thursday as well if it is offered again this year...

Signup is open...you'll have to create an account Here. Don't think the supps have been posted yet which would have the entry fees...but I doubt it will change much from last year which are listed in the supplemental regs found on the Sandblast Rally site.

Looks like there's 10 of us crazies signed up already :) Should be a great time!

To my knowledge Bill's class will happen again this year. And I believe that the prices will be the same as last year, so budget 110 for license/membership and about 200 - 250 for entry fee. And remember... the car guys are paying more than twice what we do. Those guys sign up late it's over $800.

The clinic most likely will happen, been playing phone tag with the Forest Director. Hopefully can make it official next week.

Anders there is a spot reserved for you, do not volunteer for anything on Thursday!

I'm still down for providing the Bad Monkey support package if your other folks drop out.
Then I can do Bills class also with 17" knobbies on the 2fiddy-X

    Hello All,

My name is Andrew. I am taking over the organizing duties from Anders this year so he can run the stages again. My goal is keep the event low key and fun for the racers. So come on out to Cheraw and enjoy the road and some southern hospitality.

The Supplemental Regulations have been posted and Reserved Entry is open.

    http://sandblastrally.com

Reserved Entry is a special price for competitors that rode last year or at ESPR at the end of the season this year. Reserved Entry will close at 11:59PM on Dec 25th.

I've run this Rally a few times and can say that it is a blast for riders at every level.
Anders' skill at crossing every T and dotting every I shines on race day.
I've decided that racing (albeit in the middle of the pack) is not in the best interest of my worn out body.

That said...I have a 2009 BMW G450 X for sale. It was prepped by MAX. It has all the required set up for the race. All you need is a new rear tire. I won't clutter this thread with the details.

I'm in NY. If you are interested, or know someone that is, email me dsammel@hotmail.com

I signed up to volunteer on the website. I would like to do motorcycle scrutineering again and can help with registration.
