Yes, it is sad. I am guilty severely guilty of being a cynic on cycling but I still love the sport. I remember in my youth going to the Red Zinger/Coors Classic in Colorado seeing people like Alexi Grewal, Davis Phinney and LeMond duke it out.

Ok, I went and watched twice. I do distinctly recall Phinney and Grewal, not LeMond-- but when I lived briefly in England in 1983 I shocked a local cyclist by knowing who not only LeMond was but a whole host of other top Americans, "You're the only Yank I've ever met who knows anything about cycling-- most have never even heard of LeMond."

Promise to self-- If I get my fat ass in shape, as a reward I'm going to get a LeMond Frame and have it built into a nice Century Bike. (I also want a Bianchi green Bianchi with Campy parts)
I need to start working on it, have a long long way to go.

he hasn't seemed to enjoy cycling for a living for a couple years now. Every interview he is spewing doom and gloom.

Feext... be sure to look closely at the tubing used in construction. Reynolds or Columbus FTW. Or, if you're super lucky; you can find a Ti version.

I'd still rather that, than (for eg) tennis' intense efforts to look like they're testing without actually catching anyone. Cycling deserve plaudits for their efforts and Nadal is juiced to the gills IMO...

My favorite sport is Professional Football (NFL). They care far more about deflated balls than real testing for PEDs. Yes, every year players get nailed for PEDs- but I seriously doubt it is any real fraction of the players that use them during the off season, away from scrutiny.

I think Froome was just the strongest rider this year bar none. Bardet was a surprise and Quintana just never came into fruition I suppose. I think he will win it in the next couple years. Froome has a strong support cast on Sky with Geraint Thomas, Nicholas Roche, Michael Kwiatkowski.. Teejay was a huge disappointment. I thought he had a top 5 in him this year for sure.

Mrs. DX rolls her eyes when the first week of July rolls around since she knows whats on my mind :deal for the following three weeks.

The last stage should be shortened and just make it a crit around the Champ Elysees. They already have a couple time trials each year so a crit race would be an interesting addition.

Cyclingfans.com is your best bet for watching cycling feeds. For the TDF, the French ones are usually the most consistent quality wise.
Steephill.tv is your best bet for cycling recaps. They always have the 5 minute recap video from every stage and usually someone posts the last 10km or 20km of the stage when the team trains are getting in order for the sprint finish.

Neither of whom made the Tour squad. I guess the Sky budget allows them to pay the likes of Wout Pouls more than they'd earn as leader of a lesser team?

Yes, something different for the final stage. As it stands now I rarely watch it as it is a complete anti-climax.

I just got my team Lotto Soudal and Quick Step Etixx replical jerseys. So now when I go for a training ride I pretend I'm either Andre Greipel or Tom Boonen!

Sky allegations are heating up--- Team Sky "official" spokesman, famed jorno David Walsh is trying to cover it up..

THE credibility of Team Sky and British Cycling is in “tatters” this morning after a damning report given to MPs by UK Anti-Doping.

Sounds like a bunch of allegations towards Wiggins for Doping and Froome having some electric assist-- especially on Ventoux... from 2013

The Daily Express is a tabloid POS. Not saying Team Sky is lilly white but the only good thing that shit is for, is wrapping your fish and chips.

So in a pinch, it can't take care of a pinch?
