It is not, look at the muffler.
To me the Tiger 800XCx became more road friendly than dirt friendly. This is what I meant. She comes stock with a heated seat, for example
Over all, the AT has been pushed more into the dirt, but basically a better ADV Bike for sure.
the official Honda videos are on you tube
Sorry, the first pic posted at the beginning of the thread was the old rally with the arrow muffler. Different pic now. The original pic was the rally concept at an angle to the camera. That's why the first two replies including mine were saying that was an old pic. The pic got switched.
I think I would have put down a deposit immediately if it had electronic cruise control in addition to the larger tank.
Some nice upgrades, but honda have missed the boat, every other big adv bike has cruise control and tubless tyres . Maybe in another 2 years they’ll finally get around to it.
I like the bigger tank, improved fairing and colours, suspension etc, although I’m not so sure on the new instruments, why no colour TFT (like KTM and BMW), but also, why go to the length of fitting fly by wire throttle and then fail to fit cruise control?
Maybe 2019 it will get cruise control.
Found this article, thought some of you might enjoy it. So, what do you think?
I personally think cruise control is overkill. This is supposed to be an adventure bike, not a touring bike.
Agreed looks good, but a little tall for someone with shorter inseam
Certainly looks the goods.
Would have been nice to get this for first models.
May just try and jam that fuel tank on my rocket!
Why is cruise control over kill? still plenty of people that have to travel to get to the "Adventure".
Aside from suspension mods, the cruise control on my Af Twin is one of the best mods I have fitted.
Spoke with the dealer. As soon as their ordering opens up, they'll be ordering one for us and taking a deposit. Should be in a few days. DCT with optional quick shifter. Figuring mid-April to mid-May for delivery at this time. Noticed the seat height went up to about the same as my Beta. 9.9" of travel up front, 9.4" in the back. That's lots of room for rough roads! They're still scrambling for info, but have seen the upgrades online, just not from Honda yet.
No news on cruise control, but it's early in the process.
My adventures have taken me through the 12 western-most states...TX to MT, and everything west. In that time there have been numerous full tanks of fuel burned on the interstates. I seldom use the cruise control on my GS, but it IS nice to have.
About 90% of them will be used for touring. Cruise control is great for hour after hour on the autobahn/motorway.
Throttle by wire yet no cruise control? Guess Honda is still willing to cede sales to BMW, Yamaha and KTM.
Not tubeless, spec sheet still says tubed.
The bigger tank. That, I'm interested in. Wonder if it'll retro fit?
The winglets are interesting. They made a diff on my GSA, curious to see if these do the same.
New dash? Meh.
Taller seat? Oh yeah...
Very nice! Love the color!
The article indicates that retrofitting the larger tank to previous models will probably not work with the current faring. Would be nice to have that extra fuel.
Just ordered one of these: https://camel-adv.com/products/honda-africa-twin-crf1000l
Gives 1.5 gallons so I'll have more 0.1 more than the Sports. :)
Yeah, even if the new tank fit the old fairings, the paint wouldn't match.
