You're very welcome, can't let my extremely amateur photos of that bike be the sole representatives in this thread :D

You guys keep mentioning Briggs riding his speedway based Yamaha at Daytona which was not a national. I was however at Santa Fe when he rode it
there to the delight of the crowd - and yes, that was a NATIONAL!
I think this all started with some of us "gray beards" who remember when racing was not about keeping your two wheels in line, which our best riders
will say is the fastest way around a track. No one can dispute that fact but that does not cause me to jump up and down and cheer!

I still say bring a Speedway bike out to the Mile,or Peoria, and see whats what. A few lap times does not a winner make.

Mile isn’t for a speedway bike. But a half mile is do able.

For a full mile, 2 speed kick box would need to be added. Better again would be a longtrack chassis (has rear suspension and a touch more rake)

I don’t have any more data than fastest lap times from qualifying that year. They didn’t run them heads up

I love this bike. Soooo sexy. Was just about to complain why haven’t they raced it yet when I read Bonsey was supposed to be the rider, good choice.

I can’t help but wonder if it was a Ducati sponsored effort they wouldn’t have to source used motors and a hodgepodge of parts and tricking the motor’s brain to work.

Virtually no support from Ducati , I am friends with one of their sponsors , they run this on a shoestring , and to add insult to injury just when they get a motor sorted the rules change . Losing Stevie hurt the effort for sure .

Im guessing a 25 lap main would be an issue.
